Our first non sydney finals victory!!

Correct me if I am wrong - but since our move to the Harbour City - we have only won finals (3) in Sydney?? (Hawks, Bombers 96, and Saints 98). What an achievment today was!!!

I am proud of all you guys that were so positive during the week, I SO wasn't!! I put this down as a loss, and was so confident of it, i watched Friday's night game because I KNEW the winner was this weeks opponent!.

    GO SWANNIEs!!

(OH and we have never lost a preliminary final as the Sydney Swans hehe)

    Aren't statistics wonderful!

We have also never lost a final in Adelaide (including when we were South Melbourne).

This year we will break our finals duck in Melbourne!!

I love the statistics for this episode.

These are the firsts (or something that contains 1) ffor Swans anyway:
      • 1 player left on the bench
      • For some of the younger players it was their first AFL final
      • Fourth placed team (at the end of the regular season) beats the First ranked team (at the end of the regular season)
      • First Preliminary Final ever to be held at Telstra Stadium (presuming this will happen since the Pies will host the other one)
      • First Final Win in South Australia
      • First Final Win away from home
      • First Final Win under Paul Roos' coaching

Last but not least and my personal favourite.

Willo's first ever win in the finals

ETA: fixed the Pies/Power thing up by putting for Swans and adding to the list that people have stated below

We've got that monkey off our backs now. We can win anywhere, against anyone, at anytime, with just about any injury.
          We hate Anthony Rocca
          We hate Shannon Grant too
          We hate scumbag Gaspar
          But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

A very significant monkey IMO. And also Roos has a 1/1 finals record.
This win will be very significant in our history IMO. It is one further step in coming of age of this club.
