Up yours, Rex

AN emotional Daryn Cresswell last night stuck it up Rex Hunt and other media experts who assumed Port Adelaide would cruise past the Swans.
Cresswell, who said the stirring win was a victory for the hard-hitting South Melbourne Bloods of old, singled out Hunt for leading the non-believers.
"No one rated us. If you listened to the TV this morning, Rex Hunt was saying Essendon would have to go and play at Stadium Australia," Cresswell said.
"That really pisses me off. No one gives us a chance. They don't rate us.
"Shove it up your a rse, Rex."
Hunt was not on his own, with only one of 51 media tipsters picking the Swans ? and that was the 's Kiss of Death, who always goes for the outsider.
It is a recurring theme, with several Melbourne tipsters picking the Swans to win this year's wooden spoon in pre-season guides.
The Bombers won't be heading for Telstra Stadium now, but to AAMI Stadium on Saturday to play Port. Sydney has the week off and a home preliminary final.
Cresswell, who played in the Tony Lockett after-the-siren preliminary final win in '96, said yesterday's triumph was right up there.
The Swans went in without key players Michael O'Loughlin, Jason Saddington, Jason Ball and Ryan O'Keefe, and lost Tadhg Kennelly, Brad Seymour and Stephen Doyle during the contest.
But they had made a pact to be hard at it and their intentions were obvious early on.
"It was a victory for the Bloods today. We really dug deep like the old South Melbourne days," Cresswell said.
"We pride ourselves on being hard and physical."
Cresswell, elated on the siren, ran to the boundary pulled at his jumper and showed it to the Port fans after the siren as a sign of passion for the red and white.
"Grabbing the jumper was recognition of that (Bloods theme). A few of the Port supporters were giving us a hard time," Cresswell said. "It was a great victory by the boys. It's nice to do the nice passes and kick goals, but we pride ourselves on doing the hard things.
"It's a big win . . . a huge win. It just goes to show we've got a good young list with plenty of depth."
Cresswell was in doubt for much of the week with a groin injury and played in a brace.
"It was pretty comfortable today and now I've got a week off to rest it," he said. "I can rest up and get ready for the prelim.
"Home final; all the supporters are going to be there ? hopefully we can pack it out."
