... from the most awesome weekend since 1996. Have read some of the threads but there's far too many to get through in one sitting, so sorry if I'm posting stuff already in other threads.
Firstly, thanks to Bron and MJ for the most wonderful, raucous couple of days for a while. Right from lunchtime on Saturday afternoon until when we finished the dregs of that last bottle of wine on Sunday evening, it was fantastic. Completely lost count of how many times we sang "Up there for Sydney" and "Cheer Cheer" to the bemusement and amusement of the genteel Genelg population.
Highlight was hanging around the rooms straight after the game, and then being let inside by a very kindly security guard as the players started to trickle out. Bron has several photos which I'm sure she'll be sharing with the board in due course.
The game itself was one of the bravest performances I've ever watched. Seeing the likes of Crouch, Fossie, Kirk bottle up contest after contest in that final quarter was unbelievable. All the players (those left standing) did their bit. from the majestic, unbelievable Adam Goodes to the inexperienced Noggin. It still hasn't quite sunk in just how superbly, wonderfully brilliant the team was yesterday. And I still have the video replay to look forward to.
And Matt from Adelaide - if you've found you're way onto the board, welcome aboard.
