    Scott Stevens

I have decided to start this thread in a hope the match committee will read it and agree, please, please leave Stevens down back. Worth noting he recieved praise from the WA media and with Westcoast needing big men he could be a target.

I liked how he did all the disaplined things and had the confidence to run with it when needed.

Yep he is definately better suited to playing down back and could become the KPP that we have been looking for. I too hope he is given a full year down back next year. The bloke can play.

That's what my wife was telling her friends about me over coffee the other day!

hehe only joking, she is a polite modest lady, unlike her husband!

He still seems to be knocked off the ball a bit too easily for my liking and also needs to hold marks.

Agree, better down the back. Not a star, but did well, particularly given his little game time. Wasn't over-awed by the occasion, just wanted to contribute to his team.

I've been saying it all year! (So have a couple of others).

He did the smart things when they were needed in that last few minutes of sheer panic. He did keep a cool head and I would be very interested to see how he goes in another game of similar ilk (i.e. the prelim final). I was very impressed by how he didn't seem as overawed by this as he has come across in past senior appearances so good on him, and here's hoping he keeps it up

He did everything right and like most I think he is a good option down back. However he HAS to follow that effort up with a simular effort in the Prelim - if he plays

Glad to see other people saying it. Some of my first thoughts at the end of that game were "see... Barry DOES do well when you give him a run in the ruck (how huge was that effort to hold the ball up!)" but then I just thought "Scott Stevens, backman.... he can take ruck duties against forwards for that part of the ground..."

He was good down there. I think people just assume that because he can kick bags of goals in reserves (and once or twice in seniors) he should wait for a position up the front... but that is just unfair to him. He is starting to get older and really needs to be given a chance, and I really think the backline is the place.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Never used to be a fan of young scott, but after seeing that performance, im slowly changing my mind. I reckon across half back is the best position for him because he can run with the ball too.

I'm not on the badwagon yet, but I think he's a chance to make it.

Has definitely suffered from a lack of game time. Excellent effort.
