    Cressa

In the Grand Final, Cressa will be playing his 245th game, just 16 short of breaking the club record.

Is that enough of an incentive for him to go on and play next year?

If Cressa is out of contract he will have to negotiate it with the club. I wonder how much salary would they offer him to continue playing.

Who knows what will happen with Cressa. I have no idea as to whether or not he will play on.

"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Don't you agree that there is no more a fitting finale to a stella career than a Grand Final victory.

That is how I want to see Cressa leave the game.

If we were to win, then as for next year, well we will do what we did this year and that is assign a new hard ball rover. He is brilliant for us but not indespensible.

Hell, I thought Kell indespensible and his contribution would simply disappear from our game and we would not survive without him, but I was wrong, merrily wrong!

I reckon he will bow out, because he will be going out on a high with a GF under his belt.

(If we were to lose, having come this far, it would give him cause to reconsider.)

I'll fondly bid him farewell under my scenario, thanking him for a job well done in playing his part in getting us there.

If Cressa wants to play on, salary is unlikely to be an issue. He won't be doing it for that reason - only because he still feels he has something to achieve (whether that be to win a premiership or to win back-to-back premierships) and something to contribute.

From a salary cap perspective its irrelevant as well. Firstly he qualifies as a veteran, and secondly, the Swans are so far under their salary cap this season that they have plenty of room to move.

I just hope that when its all said and done, he does what HE wants to do .

I'm not saying its the case with him, but in general, I think there's nothing sadder than a good footballer who plays a season too long .

I'd be happy to see him bid farewell still relatively in one piece .

In every interview over the past weeks he's been dropping big hints that he may have been a bit hasty announcing his retirement at the start of the season.

All it would take is to get the nod from Roosy and I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to go for another season. I'm disappointed that hasn't happenned yet, which means it probably won't. I can't see the logic in rubbing him out for reaching the grand old age of 32 when he's contributing so well and would also be needed next year.

If we win the flag, that's the end of it. If we don't, I think we'll see Cressa next year.

Remember that he told me in round 16 that if we lost the GF narrowly, it would be enough for him to come back next year.

I reckon he will be out if we lost the grand final. I remembering him quoting that losing makes him want to retire again. I think if we win though, he might come back for another year because his dream has been achieved and that'll make him play again.

I think cressa still has 1 more year in him. His presence on the field still means a lot ot us and he is still playing well. But i do admit that he looks tired at times.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

IMO he will retire, with a little help from Roosy.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

He is certainly playing well enough to go around for another year. I think that he would pass on invaluable experience to the younger players coming through if he played on next year, but at the same time they currently have quite a few players running on the ball that are only getting short stints because there are just so many worthy guys who need a run... If he doesn't come back next year, it would probably mean more time on the ball for Schneider and Davis...
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
