Barry Hall and Nicky D have also featured in losing grand finals...

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Strewth we are almost down to the last 4 teams and some people are worried that the publicity may invoke some sort of complacency!!!!!

It is finals time folks and the media frenzy is just warming up. If you are worried about overkill at finals time, you are not following the right game. Just wait for Grand Final WEEK if we make it. Remember 1996.

To be a player in the Swans team right now would be nothing short of spine tingling, and as exciting as life gets. Surely they would be grabbing every paper than can to lap up the publicity.

For me, I have to pinch myself hourly to remind me this is not a dream. I can't believe how good it is to be a Swans supporter.

The thing I absolutely hate with a passion is some people from the swans (players and staff) saying we have already acheived a lot this year. Implying a preliminary is enough.

We know for sure that just a preliminary will be an under-achievement for Brisbane, Collingwood, and Port. Probably event Essendon who are still classed as Under-acheivers from the 2000 team.

Not winning a flag, is not acheiving anything.

Good point Barry - all the planning in the world will not get you this far.

That said we will need some luck to go further.

Robert Walls dobbed in Lade - were Pert to make the GF he would likely be suspended for kneeing Hird in the head (my suspicion is that this won't happen - Pert are charmed when it comes to tribunal appearances - mostly becuase the Melb media doesn't give them attention.
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler
