Can I just say this regardless of the result for a man who's supposed to be injured, this is an amazing stat:

    M.Voss 11 11 22 3 0 2 0 0 0 0

Actually all the big names look to have dominated tonight - we can only hope our guys can be focused enough next week and not play like deers in front of headlights.

Lions by 7 goals. A traditionally non-AFL state will be represented in the GF (and its not QLD)

        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

he he - I've got my family going next week - even dragged a non-AFL fan to the match - so they better come out with a win

Well one thing's for certain here.

If Power beat Dons tomorrow the final four places at the end of the regular season will be making up the final four places of the final series.

              Meh.

Lions fans should right now be looking back at our game last week and saying "they played well, I'm scared." We Swans have NOTHING to be scared of.

me too, I somehow picked it up live through Wollongong TV.....in Bondi!

3-0 against the Lions in 2003? That would be stunning!

Edit: Why not? Bring it on!

Nothing to lose, lads. Go out there and give it 100% - there is no "there's always next week" from here. We have to worry about Lynch and Brown and Akermanis and Voss and Lappin... They have to worry about Hall, Davis, Kirk, Bolton (both of them!), Barry, and above all, Adam the Friggen Legend Goodes. I suspect it will be thrilling and draining in the extreme. I can't wait until that game's over.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Just got home from the game. Very hot conditions. Voss looked Ok. Must have been a good needle. It was not a great game in the first half, neither side showed that much run. Lynch was the normal pattern to goal and if we can keep him quiet again next week then we will be OK.

Overall it was not a high standard game and I think the crows did not cope with the weather. I think Carey was terrible and did not look interested to me.

Swans will win if they stay loose and continue ro run them off their feet. Leppitch and Michael are both slow defenders who like to play man to man. Keep them running will be the answer. Kirk on Black. He was their best player by a mile.

Actually... I'm quite happy that they played well. Those stinking journos who a) worship the ground that Brisbane players tread and b) chronically underate the Swans at the expense of their tipping statistics will look at that and decide that Brisbane will win.

You know how the Swans go as underdogs.

Up until three-quarter time, while the result was still in the balance, I was switching my mind every few seconds about which I'd prefer us to be playing next week. At times, both teams looked good.

Not sure how much you can take from the final quarter - the Crows were clearly spent and their pressure on the Lions was pretty ordinary. Glad that Brisbane didn't hold anything back in the final quarter for two reasons

1 Hopefully it will add to their tiredness

2 More importantly, it should have served as a timely reminder to our guys (if they needed one) as to just how many fantastic players the Lions have. I don't think they play as quite a cohesive unit as the Swans do, but when you've got a dozen players who can almost do it on their own, I guess that matters less.

We're faster than them, and probably have better endurance. They are much stronger. Can't deny I'm a little nervous - but only because I care so very very much about the result.

                          Bring it on!

That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give...

                                .... well put Homer

Personally I only flicked to the game during the ads to Heat.
And I've seen that movie before.

                                Voss' knee was fine.
Hopefully all the boys got well tired in the heat
