We decided several months ago to go the whole hog and do the breakfast. The bookings for this closed at the end of August, so we've just paid a motza for the whole shebang, based on belief in the team.

Liz is a redback too and she has guaranteed seats. Ours will go to friends as we will have 4 tickets (the ones that come with the breakfast and the redbacks ones). We all will likely end up sitting together anyway.

The cheersquad gets seats at the GF when we get in too.

For those who are wavering, redbacks membership is good value if you like the functions as well as going to the game. We get our reserved seats at home games + guernsey presentation + redbacks only cocktail party with the team (and tour of facilities) included in the package. Last year it was $1300 for 2 people and if you count the cost of those things, it's worthwhile. The redbacks also organise several functions throughout the year, like the first home game brunch and past players party at reasonable cost (this year $55 each).

Everyone else has to buy a ticket first. There's only about 8,000 GF tickets available if that and 22,000 members in Sydney, you'd imagine at least 50% would want to go and that means people will miss out.

As a person can buy up to 8 tickets each (with membership cards)
I'm surprised that no one hasn't suggested a queing strategy just in case the Swans win next week.

Tickets will probably go on sale Monday morning as they will be selling the Collingwood tickets (sadly) on Sunday.

If you book and pay for a flight, you'd have 12 months to use it anyway.
        Bas,

Not all of those 22,000 have full c,lub memberships. I have asked the club to let me know what number have GF preference but they were reluctant to do so. But when I did speak to the club they intimated it was around the 14,000 mark.

Don't worry about it being a crush for Collingwood tickets if they make it. Collingwood have already confirmed that Social Club & Ledgend members will only be available to get those and even then it will be through a ballot for some of the tickets.

We will know tomorrow morning how will tickets for the GF will be distributed when the ads are placed in the local newspapers. My bet is Sunday wil be sale day.
