At least some of the Brissy fans are getting worried!

Lizz made some good points in another thread. Our biggest strength (run and speed) is their biggest weakness.
Given that last time we actually beat them in wet and slippery conditions - when they should have had a strength at the ball advantage over us. This advantage should be larger if the conditions are dry.
Please stay dry for two weeks oh weather gods (then bucket down).
Just bring it on!You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

It infuriates the hell out of me, that they still don't give up a chance, but that can only work to our advantage. After all the articles written last week, about how the guys fired up, writting them off again can only spur them on further.
It will only bother me if we wi the flag and STILL aren't given due credit.
Although if I could look into a crystal ball and see the headlines in two weeks saying "Collingwood lose unloseable GF" I MAY feel OKComment

Barry Hall is right in the article - Melb media (dsepite us beating Bris twice) - give us no hope.

Bookmakers have Brisbane at $1.50 and us $2.50.
The Sunday morning football shows all have it as a Bris vs Port or Coll GF.
Paul Licuria is talking about playing Bris - whilst giving lip service for us.
Dwayne Russell is currently slagging us off on the radio - not threat to Port (after we have beaten them.
Basically he believes Port are Premiers if they can beat CollingwoodYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

I hate to say I told you so, but I mentioned in one of my previous postings that this week winner will be favourite over the Swans. In addition to the Sunday Footy Show, where everybody was elevating the Lions into a premiership contention, and that goes for Rex's footy panel as well. The difference this time was that Rex delagated to voice his opinion to Sam. The only person that really said something favourably was Brett Ratten, a new assistant coach for the Demons.Comment

It doesn't matter.
These are the same group of people who thought we were wooden spooners - see how smart they are!
If it fires Goodesy and Bazza and the rest of the team up, then it's to our benefit.

REX HUNT ON 3AW JUST SAID
Collingwood - Port and Bris about 3 : 1 and Sydney about 9 : 1 in a 4 horse race.

The only people's whose beliefs matter are the 22 who take the field on Saturday night, representing the proud old South Melbourne/Sydney football team. Plus of course the 70,000+ of us who will be there cheering them on til we're blue in the face.Comment

I reckon we have a 50/50 chance. Either we will win or we won't. :-) We will know next Saturday night.Comment

The comments from Dwayne Russell don't really surprise as he played for the Port Magpies before going to Geelong. He is a strong Port follower.
As it has been pointed , these are the same experts ?? who tipped the Swans to come last . What would they know.WMPComment

Its not just the press who give us no respect, it goes right down to the man in the street.
I have not heard one person say, "Sydney played well" yet the constant references to Port being a team of "chokers" is never ending.
Lets prove the lot of em wrong, and as they stare in disbelief at us taking the cup north we can smile smugly and just say "Now do you think we are any good".
There is a precedent for all this. The Bombers of 93 were not expected to go all the way. In the end, self belief above anything else got them over the line. Lets do the same.Comment
