    Sheedy backs Lions

    From AAP...

AFL: Brisbane will win flag - say Sheedy, Hird
    AFL Bombers Lions (ADELAIDE)
Essendon coach KEVIN SHEEDY and captain JAMES HIRD both believe Brisbane will win a third consecutive AFL premiership.
The Bombers bowed out of the 2003 finals race last night with a 39-loss to Port Adelaide.
But even though Essendon has now been beaten by Collingwood and the Power in the last three weeks, SHEEDY says the Lions are still the team to beat.
HIRD concurs, saying the Lions' effort in successfully rebounding from last weekend's loss to the Magpies proves just how resilient they are.

Of the 40 or media commentators I have seen read, seen or listened to in Melb today, the only one who has given us a chance is Brendon Gale.

They think we were lucky and are trash.
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

The odds should always be in favour of the home side in a preliminary final (as a home side ever lost one??)

Plus we have a team which will capitalise on that advantage.

For what its worth, I think Kevin Sheedy's comments are fairly typical. If Essendon would've beaten Port last night - then i bet he would've said it was because Essendon were dead set premeirship contenders . No way he'd have had any of the Port choking thing, like we did . Essensdon would've been the better side, end of story. Him playing up Sydney chances isn't an option because it makes his own mob seem very ordinary, seeing we beat Port, and they beat him .
Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.
