Phew, that was a tough day... I got this email from the webhosts last night:
Greetings Valued Customers and Partners,
During the morning of September 18th, our servers experienced a complete shutdown due to an emergency situation in the building. An electrical fire in the 3rd floor of the building caused the building to be evacuated. In order to protect the rescuers from possible electrocution, all power sources had to be disconnected or powered down. Despite the risk, 4 of the NOC personnel stayed behind during the evacuation to do an orderly shutdown with the supervision of fire dept personnel.
After the emergency was controlled, the power company arrived on scene and cleared the building to be powered up again. Our personnel then began a systematic reboot of our servers.
At this time, your site is back online and service has returned to normal. Rest assured there was no damage done to our NOC and you should not experience any further problems as a result of this incident.
We apologise for any inconvenience this shutdown may have caused. We complied with the fire department request in order to protect the lives of those that protect our lives.
Best Regards,
