    I'm SO over the swans!

    I shouldn't be, but I'm quite relaxed

Yep...ever since we secured 4th spot, I've been very very relaxed about what will be. Gone is the anxiety, the racing heart and palpatations of previous years, when we expected more than the team gave us. So laid back have I been that I haven't even been posting so much on here. I'm just so bleedin proud of our boys this year that whatever happens, they will all be heroes to me, whether that's no more wins, one more win or two.
I just hope for their own sakes that to come so close they give it their all. Remembering that many of the greatest players of the game have never played in a premiership team.
Also, if we do lose on Saturday, I am confident that we will have lost to the best football team that I have seen in the past 30 years. And, if we win, we will be playing in a GF by beating what I believe to be the best football team of the past 30 years for the third time this year...
And finally, Cressa, if you do hang up the boots....just simply, thank you. It's been a privilege to watch you play and give your all for the red and white!
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

I'm not relaxed, I'm scared stupid..and excited and nervous...

I agree with your sentiments however.. The team has performed wonderfully this year and given us some fabulous moments. I hope that whatever happens tomorrow night, that the fans there give them a standing ovation as they leave the field.

I'm most definitely not relaxed and calm. I'm excited, nervous, anxious, petrified etc etc

Before the Port game I was OK and shared the sentiments above. But having seen what the boys were capable of in Adelaide, I so so badly want them to win on the weekend, it hurts. I don't care that we're playing a fantastic team and that losing to them will be no disgrace. For the moment I don't care that the boys have exceeded our expectations and should be proud of what they've done, regardless of where it ends.

I want them to be there on the last Saturday in September, representing this club that we all love so much, and giving us the chance to invade Melbourne in a blast of red and white. The spirit and hard work that they've shown this year deserves that, and anything less will be a huge disappointment - for them and for us.

At least for those fans still that will still be there after the others have rushed off for their queue tickets!

After we won the Port game, I want the Swans to get into the Grand Final and win the premiership. It's been a fantastic year and I wish the boys all the good luck that I can give, but I want them to WIN, WIN, WIN!

I agree with all the above , what a year they have given us, its been a long time since I have enjoyed a football season as much as this one, at one stage I was just happy to be in the finals, as lizz said after the match in Port Adelaide I really think we deserve to be there in that last match.

GO SYDNEY, LETS GET THROUGH THIS ONE by the way, I am just so damn nervous,, I cant even think

I'm still delirous from the win over POrt. Have to keep pinching myself that I am going to the game on Saturday for a spot in the GF.

I'm feeling excited, nervous the whole bit, but no matter what happens it will be fun. We get to thank the boys at the end for an awesome season whatever the result. Its my last live game for the year so I will be wanting to go berserk along with my 6 afl mad buddies who will be cheering along side me. Hopefully its only the second last win for the mighty red and white. I can hardly sleep.

                Just read a good stat.

The team with a weeks rest has one 8 times out of the 12 prelims since the final 8 was introduced.

                Looking good for 9.

I just did my last shop for the footy for the kids this year and was surprised by how emotional I felt doing it.

Every match I wander off down to woolies to pick up chips lollies and other junk to keep them happy while the game is on. They have their own bags and I leave them to their own devices.

As I walked past the lollies, it dawned on me that this is it. The very last game in Sydney where I'll be buying the boys chips etc.

I am far from relaxed, in fact I am sick with nerves. I have resorted to drinking peppermint tea to calm the stomach. Oh I hope I am not catching something, I don't have time.

It's just a matter of wanting more.

Last year after Eade's Swans gave up in the last 1/4 of a match I've forgotten, I was walking out of the SCG asking a friend "what is their problem?" Her reply was that they are just so young they can't see that it doesn't go forever. We worked out that less than 1/2 AFL senior players can expect to play in a Grand Final.

Early this year, there was a newspaper article about how Barry Hall was facing a lot of self-doubt. I wrote to him to say that all we wanted was to think the guys were putting everything into every game.

And they have! And it's been magical all year. Ignore the media - the Swan's win vs Port was the best performance by any team in the finals. Do it two more times and they are premiers.

So now we know they can win. We just have to lend our support to help them realise their potential. Not bad for a rebuilding year!

I went to their practice this morning. Mainly media there. The boys all looked refreshed and relaxed. But very business-like. I'm convinced they'll give their all. Let's hope that's enough for two more wins this year. If it isn't I'll still be cheering a great effort for the season - but I'll be delirious if we're winners. And I expect to have about 70,000 joyful friends alongside me.

Im impossible to live with, i am jumping up and down, all fired up regardless of the time or whats happening around me. Far too anxious for tomorrow night, im too bloody nervous. Iv got yearly exams and iv spent more time spent on AFL than study, it will reflect on my marks, but stuff it if we get there
                          - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

nope. never. not in a million years. Sydney and the Swans are stuck with me. I should clarify that one then. My very last shop for this season in Sydney.

Well, it seems I'm in a definite minority of one...but I am still very calm about it...I have a resignation that what will be, will be. The others in the house though I admit are almost ill with tension and expectation and excitement...the red and white face paints and streamers have been bought...now theres only to yell ourselves hoarse cheering the boys on Saturday night...
MMMmmmmm, I feel a little excited.....
