Clearly has a bad groin injury. To hope to get over it fully at this stage of his career is probably wishful thinking. Doubtful he sees any value in an operation for just more season.
Great servant to the club - great career. His last 3 seasons have been his best in my opinion.Comment

Thanks Cressa, it was great knowing that you were always there as a steadying influnce. You will be missed - and it was nice to see you being carried off shoulder high tonight.Comment

First picture I've seen of Cressa being chaired off - I have to say it's fitting that Paul W and Nick D were the ones who chaired him off.

Thanx for the memories, u are a true legend. Without him, who will Nicky D have??- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!Comment

Does anyone know if Cressa's going to be working at the Swans next year or hasn't he yet revealed his plans?

Cressa will be hard to replace as he was all heart and always to heaps of the ball. But his body told him it was time to finish. Great career and will always be remembered. I don't know what his wrong with Nicky D as a person as according to Collingwood fans he had no friends there either and I lived near him at Sylvannia when we were growing up and he was a bit of a loner. Some people are not just liked for whatever reason but it doesn't matter if he hasn't got mates as long as he puts in and enjoys playing. He loves his horses though.Comment

Thanks for the memories Cressa, you are a true champion of the Swans.
My greatest memories
1. Your match winning goals - Hawthorn final 96, Essendon final
96 and that "staged" free against the Roos 2002
2. The Kneecap heroics against the side that rejected you in 97
3. Grabbing your jumper with passion after the Port finalSeptember 24th, 2005 5.14pm
What a great moment in all of our livesComment

Very sad for Cressa to go out like that if he decides to hang up the boots, especially after so many years of sheer guts and determination.
Cressa best wishes for whatever the future may holdPremiers 09,18,33,05

He's got mates at the Swans, and he's well liked. What Cressa said about, with him going, Nick wouldn't have any friends, was just a joke . Obviously some believed it ...
Anyway, Cressa will only be a phone call, or racetrack away, for anyone of the younger ones ... He's retired, not dead .Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.Comment

Unfortunately its not if he decides - he has decided. I watched the post-game part of the coverage on tape, and they showed Luke Power shaking hands with him and you could see Power ask him if that was it, and you could see Cressa say yeah, and Power went back to have another word.
A true champion of the club, as proved by his selection in our TOTC, he said it was his mind wanting to play on, but the body couldn't do it any more. A sad way to go out with the last quarter turning out as it did, but to make a Preliminary Final in your last year, a year where nobody was expecting it, well, there could be many worse ways to finish a career.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
