Watched the tape of last night's game today, one thing that did cheer me up a little was Channel 10's opening piece for the game...where they listed every one of the journo's that tipped the Swans to finish last this year as people who should apologize to the Swans, with a soundtrack and pictures of the players in the background!

Last week 'On the couch'. Malthouse listing off players playing in the preliminary final on the weekend, and he did not once mention a Sydney player. When Mike picked him up and asked him, he basically wriggled his way out saying Sydney play as a team, and there isn't one person he can pick out (please correct me if I'm wrong on this).

I think Mike genuinely feels guilty for tipping them as wooden spooners. But gees it would be funny.

I didn't give us much chance of making the finals - I think we should next year. As always happens in the media, the story snowballed from "theywon't do to good" to "Sydney in the bottom 4" to Sydney have the worst list in the comp and will finish last.

"Sydney will go backwards" is a perennial prediction in footy just as "St Kilda, Hawthorn and Richmond will make the finals", is the other.
