HOWEVER I believe they should be distributed on the way INTO the Prelim, not after it (otherwise you are encouraging people to NOT go or to leave early).
1. EVERYONE lobby the club to make this change.
ALSO - whathappens if we have an away prelim, and win it? Do I have to get back from wherever to scg by 10pm Sat night to get a Q ticket? How ridiculous! More encouragement NOT to go to prelim. ARRGGGGHHHHHHCOMPARE YOUR BROADBAND PLAN AND SAVE - - $15 Connection CashBack OR Free Delivery

Next year..........
to discourage people from leaving the preliminary finals celebrations early (as we'd all absolutely HATE to do).....
perhaps some time prior to the Preliminary final, the Membership department could consider handing out queue tickets to the queue ticket queue....
In fact, the whole process of handing out queue tickets could be started just before Round 1! and we could work our way through the season towards the Grand Final through a series of queue tickets......
Would be a great way of sorting out who the most dedicated fans are amongst us.... and ensure that the tickets end up in the hands of the most rabid and dedicated supporters

If they'd been giving out queue tickets before the game, who would have camped out at the Superdome on Friday night and spent all day Saturday there? Yep, me too.
Our membership tickets are barcoded, so it shouldn't be too hard for the club to track how many games members have attended. The club could then allocate queue tickets to every member according to how many games they've attended. For example, full club members who attended all 12 games would be randomly allotted the best queue ticket numbers, then full club members who attended 11 etc. The queue tickets would then be sent out along with the barcode letters, or even included as part of the barcode letter.
The limit of 8 tickets per transaction would still apply, and the position in the queue would be determined by the worst queue ticket number of the barcode letters. So every game you miss would push you and anyone else you wanted to buy tickets for back in the queue - would make any member think twice before missing a game and therefore hopefully reduce the number of no-show members at any game.
That way, members who attended the most games would be the ones who get to go to the grand final. Also you'd only need to queue once, on the Sunday morning. Better than what would have happened if the Swans had won last week; which would have been a mad scramble to the Superdome with people getting barrelled left right and centre.

Some people who know they can't go to many games during the season buy memberships because it gives them the opportunity to buy finals tickets - and a chance to get to the GF. The above scheme would pretty much guarantee they couldn't get a GF ticket and many might chose not to buy a membership.
From the club's perspective that would be a disaster. They get the membership revenue regardless of how many games the member subsequently goes to.
No idea how many members might think this way, but I suspect the club would be very loathe to reduce the value of memberships in this way.
And while we might judge that members who go to games are the "best" members and should be rewarded accordingly, you could equally argue that those who are prepared to financially support the club despite knowing they can't attend every game as just as "good" and important members.Comment
