I thought it was on his worst games for the season. BUT - I don't begrudge him winning a Brownlow - he does deserve it.

By gee Nic Fosdike cost Goodesy a bit - but if you read this forum Fossie will be traded soon!

Cheers
Exactly my thoughts on Bucks.

Well done Goodsey, what a star he has become.

Adam ,

Your ability , your sportsmanship and your modesty are a credit to you and to the Swans.
Well done - it may not have sunk in yet , but this is an enormous achievement.

Paul Roos will have to change his "No Superstars" claim now !!
Of course WE all knew he was wrong all the time!

Extremely well done to Adam! He's been recognised for a fantastic season where he's achieved that most difficult of tasks -- lived up to massive expectations.

I thought he was a bit stiff not to win it outright though. It's a fact that the umps reward the winning teams, and had we got up against Collingwood in rd. 21, I reckon Adam would have the front pages all to himself this morning.

Of course in his typically self-effacing manner, he says he was hoping for only a 2 in the final round, as he was still a "student of the game" and didn't want to deny two champions. From a lot of players that would sound like (and be) nothing more than lip-service. But one of the truly great aspects of Adam is that you can't help but feel that he is 100% sincere when he says inspirational things like that.

Make no mistake folks -- we have not only a top player here, but an absolutely top bloke with it. His acceptance speech was far and away the best, and both Roo & Buckly 'borrowed' from it. The respect he paid to his club, coach & team-mates, and the love he showed for his mum brought a lump to my throat. Lots of players will thank 'everyone from the coach to the boot-studder'. But can anyone remember someone actually naming the boot-studder?

This is a rather long congrats, but I'm just so rapt for Goodsey. Not to mention excited by the fact that he's so young and still learning -- it's almost scary to think that there may be room for even further improvement!

Congratulations and thank you for all your excellent work this year Adam. And thanks also for giving us all such a positive note to end an exciting season on.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Wow, what a huge night for aboriginal people!

Two of our much loved sportsmen taking out the highest honours of their individual codes, Big Artie the 7th Immortal in Rugby League and "Big Adam" the Brownlow Medal.

Adam, you have done and continue to make your family, people and club proud!

You have shown by your deeds off the field and achievements on the field this year- not that there was any doubt- that you are a true role model for aboriginal kids across the nation, who I know are never far from your thoughts.

You have shown them and all Australians, that hard work, self belief, commitment and passion for others will bring the greatest rewards.

A mighty heart felt congratulations, brother!

Well done Goodesy. You have done so much for this club and the indigenous community. You fill us all with pride. Polling votes in so many games was an accurate reflection of your star quality and consistency. Ever reliable. Once again, thanks for your efforts.

PS I thought it was really sweet how you took your Mum along. Underlines what a great bloke you are.

Adam,

My hands were shaking and I had tears rolling down my cheeks when they announced your 2 votes in Round 22. For a fleeting second I wished you had the 3 votes and could stand alone on the podium, but that was soon replaced with elation over your victory.

You truly are a gentle soul, who shows those around you much respect and dignity. No matter what you achieve in your footy career - though I'm sure there will be many, many moments like this, never lose who you are.

You truly are a star.

I'm celebrating your win by wearing your players badge to work today.

Here's my heart and you can break it

Congratulations Adam - fully deserved - I cant believe Sam Newman actually got an early prediction right when he said you would win the brownlow back in round 1.

Fantastic end to a great year - congrats Adam, you're an adornment to the game.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
