I stayed up till 3am to watch - after Goodesy won, how could I not.

One thing is for sure - Eddie is no Bruce. His questions were poor as was his research.

Bruce would have gone crazy last night with the Brownlow stats and history - ie Ricciuto and Goodes are the first 32 and 37 to win Charlie.
Buckley is the 7th 5 to win after Albert Collier, Bill Morris, Peter Box, Ian Stewart (twice), Bernie Quinlan and James Hird.

But what does Eddie come up with? That all 3 are from South Australia.

started the tape and went to bed. It took me ages to fall asleep and when I did I kept waking up all night. Hubby was already asleep by the time we knew he'd won. Each time I woke up I was hoping he was awake so I could share the news with someone real and not via the net, no offense to you my RWO friends, but I wanted someone to jump up and down with and yell out "HE WON".

This morning when we were both awake Hubby came in to tell me - big, big smile across his face "Adam Goodes won it"

"I know" with an even bigger smile was my reply.

i stayed up to watch it without knowing he had won, and DAMN, was it worth it! i thought he was gonna get the 3 in the last round as they were announcing it last...

i switched from espn to ffc at 11:30 thinking that ffc would be consistent and be punctual, as soon as barnesy came on i looked away from the tv, hit record and went and sat on the steps for 1/4 of an hour, so all i could see was the top inch of the tv, all i could see was the top of barnesy's mug... i didnt want to know the result, but i thought i saw the top of vossy's head and i was convinced he had wont it before venturing back up the stairs and watching the telecast...

one of the best 4am mornings ive ever had!

Shouldnt have been a 4am morning though. I can understand the Footy Show Awards getting preference over us due to the cancelling of the Dally M and it beeing a supposed 'League State', but fact that the COMEDIANS OF THE FOOTY SHOW getting preference is ****ing disgusting IMHO

Ch9 once again proved how they are taking us all for idiots. If the footy show awards wernt on I am sure it still would have been on at 12.30. We can't have The Bachelor 678 miss its timeslot you know.

I emailed Clinton Grybas about this on Tuesday, and his response was basically that Fox are not allowed to show it earlier ele they would have. Same with Fri night games.

My query to him was along the lines of ... "If 9 or 10 are showing something at midnight, thn whether fox show it at 11.30, 9.30 or 7.30, it makes no difference to the ratings for 9/10 as it is STILL being shown before they do. Therefore why can't it be live?" I was referring to Fri night games also.

He responded (in a 2.30pm Wed email) by saying he would ask Wayne Jackson on Wed night on WLF. True to his word, after a general "hello how are you" whis was in fact the first question he posed to Wayne. And he basically read my email out word-for-word, including the "whether 1 hr earlier or 3 hrs earlier, what's the difference". Answer from Wayne Jackson - the contract says 9/10 hold the rights, and it is up to them and Fox to sort it out. The AFL can't control it.

He's right, but he caused the problem in the first place. At least Clintn tried, an at least the stupid situation has been highlighted. I would prefer "no we want it first (9/10)" at least there's a valid reason NOT to show live up here!

Hopefully Andrew D will fix it - or they'll learn their lesson and be much more careful with the fine print (by actually ADDING some in!) for the next tv contract.
