In a shock developement following one of the most exciting Brownlow Counts in recent memory, it has been revealed that there were in fact 3 winners of the coveted medal last night.
Channel 9 have vehemently denied this, with a network spokesperson officially stating that "Messrs. Riciutto and Goodes had to be forceably ejected from the Crown Palladium Ballroom after they had inexplicably wandered onto the front stage whilst Eddie McGuire and Nathan Buckley were locked in a warm embrace celebrating Nathan's triumph".
When it was pointed out by Goodes that he and Riciutto had actually tied with Buckley for AFL's highest individual honour, an exasperated McGuire called security to "remove these losers from the premises". McGuire added "Who the hell do they think they are raining on Nathan's parade. Everyone knows that the Brownlow is the AFL's highest individual honour, and who better to bask in the glory of the Brownlow than one of the game's ultimate individuals".
Goodes and Riciutto were last seen being dragged and handcuffed through the Crown Casino complex, together with David Neitz, for "unspecified reasons".
Developments are continuing.
