Rumours floating around today that Bomber softcock Mark McVeigh has already moved back home to Sydney and asked the Bummers for a suitable trade
McVeigh already in Sydney?

In previous years I was not too impressed with McVeigh and thought that he was a little soft. But this season he has been harder at the ball , tacking has improved and delivering the ball to position with precision( usually). IMO he would be a good pick up.WMPComment

M McVeigh would have to be a low priority - wouldn't even consider trading him for Fozzie.
2nd rnd pick or something.
For krristss' sake keep O'KeefeYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

In any case the club has signed Scott Lucas.Comment

I agree with Reggi - and keep ROK at ALMOST any cost. If he wants to go, well OK, we've lived through that before, but I want him here.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

He hasn't moved back to Sydney, he's been up there for two weeks, staying at his family's house.
ROK is a high impact player without needing possessions, he got his one vote for 10 possessions, 2 marks, 1.2, and one tackle... we dont want to keep okeefe, we NEED him!C'mon Chels!Comment

Only trade "pebbles" if he wants to go home.
The older McVeigh would be OK but lets really screw the bombers
as they have really dumped duds like Bomford and O'Connor onto us before.
We held our ground on the Davis trade and got the local boy home realitivley cheaply , lets do the same if the same arises with McVeigh
Lets face it we would have had a couple of flags by now if we had of made the right decisions
ie not sold carey
picked hird with our priority ACT picks
picked Voss instead of GasparSeptember 24th, 2005 5.14pm
What a great moment in all of our livesComment

Any suggestion of trading O'Keefe are crazy. He is a bloody valuable player and is going to be very good.
McVeigh is still a middle tier player who is never going to be a star, so might not be any point at getting him at all. He doesn't seem to add anything to our team.
I would trade a 3rd round draft pick for him at best.Comment

McVeigh v. Fosdike:
McVeigh:
- Physical & aggressive.
- Sound defensively. A good tackler.
- A bit inconsistent. Generally solid, with the occasional blinder.
- Great disposal skills. Dangerous in front of goal.
- Lacks endurance, not a speedster.
Fozzie:
- Fast, super fit.
- Very inconsistent. Can be brilliant one week, nowhere the next.
- Questionable disposal skills. Has missed very gettable goals.
- Excellent in attack, moves the ball forward well, but
- Quiet in defence. Doesn't seem to like getting physical.
As Midaro says, 6 of one...
RyanO is a must keep -- completely agree there. To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!Comment
