    Port Players

6 port players have been de-listed, or offered as trade bait.

    - Paxman
    - Cockatoo-Collins
    - Kingsley
    - Morgan
    - Koulouriotis
    - Guerra

Who should we have a look at? Anyone?

Kingsley and Guerra, would be the only ones that would interest me?

    Thoughts??

Morgan would be worth looking at

Young, 194cm and 94kg and most importanly a key position backman
    Once was, now elsewhere

Should look at all of them, although I'm not particularly set on fire by any.

Port fans have been slagging off Kingsley all season and I don't see what he'd add to our squad. We have a lot of his type of player already - ie non KP and non-in and under midfielder.

Guerra maybe, though if he's the tough nut we're looking for you'd have to wonder why Port are off-loading him given that's an area they were maybe found to be wanting during the finals.

CCC - no thanks, especially not while we have Davis, O'Loughlin, Schneider and O'Keefe all capable of playing the opportunitistic forward pocket role.

Morgan made his debut against Sydney last year and played an absolute shocker so no thanks. (Mind you, Rowan Jones of the Weagles also had a shocker in his debut against us and he's turned out OK.)

        Paxman's too old.

Don't know anything about Koulo except that's he's been on Port's list for several years and hasn't come close to cracking a senior berth for a long while now.

i haven't seen much of him, but port are not offloading him, he has quit the club in search of further opportunities, apparently he is rated quite highly by port supporters.

paxman, cc, kingsley would not go near, perhaps they'll be running around in the navy blue in 2004?

morgan and koula would both have to have big question marks over them. in particular morgan who could not crack into a port line up that was short on key defenders

I read that Guerra wants to go back home to Melbourne....says "keep away" to me - you need to have players who want to play for you.

I thought Kingsley might be worth a look - he was Port's B&F in 98, but he's also 28. If we could pick him up in the Pre-season draft, and give up nothing, then why not, but I wouldn't trade for him.

              I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

I wouldn't mind thinking about Morgan as a late pick up in the draft, but wouldn't consider trading for him.

A few years ago, Cockatoo-Collins would have been my pick, but none of this list fill me with excitement. I noticed on the replay last night that Port has quite an old team. I can't see them maintaining their form with that old list. Quote me next year

Wasn't their defence old but one of the top ones last season? Kingsley could be a reinvigorated player for a year or two whilst we bring on the McVeighs etc, talls are sometimes worth a punt if they are fit. Plus guys you forget the Paul Roos effect (The Pied Piper) remember Goodes, Kirk, Fossie, Jude etc etc we should have a look, there is not much available to us!

Stop press ....Sport927 today tip Richo gone from Richmond with Bowden too. Richo to Dons, Bowden to join his brother, with Tig'es chasing Solomon and Brown hard.

I think we should have a look at Kingsley. He's a real goer, and is very hard at the pill. He has won a b&f, and most people on here rate that very highly.

IIRC Kingsley won the best and fairest quite a few years ago now (1998 maybe?), i wouldn't be upset if we picked him up in the pre-season draft, but i hope we don't trade a draft pick for a 28 year old midfield hack

Kingsley has had poor to average seasons 4 years running now; I think he'd be too much of a gamble. But Guerra's worth considering - he never got a decent extended run in the side and I think he could show his true worth with a fresh start at another club.
