    Laugh out loud

As we all consider what might have been, we need to think about all the ramifications. Our young team played very well in the two finals but may have become overwhelmed by the incredible pressure before and during the GF.

I was thinking this while sitting in the MCG during the last quarter of the GF. For a few minutes there was a run of easy goals to the Lions as the Pies stopped trying. I heard a sound I'd never heard at a football game before - it was the sound of thousands of people laughing. I even felt sorry for the Pies - a sentiment I'd never experienced before. Then I though how heartbreaking it would be if I ever heard the crowd laughing at the Swannies.

It's a long way to the 2004 GF but if we're there I reckon we'll be ready for it. After the laughter, I'd be surprised if Collingwood recovers within 12 months.

I don't think we'd get laughed at except by the most arrogant opposition supporters - they were laughin at collingwood because collingwood on the whole is an extraordinarily arrogant team/club and seeing them taken down a peg or two is always satisfying. People on the whole appreciate the struggle the swans have gone through since moving to Sydney, hence we tend to have more respect than scorn shown to us.

      Collingwood.

      You reap what you sew.

Sadly, most of the laughter at the players should have been directed at teh supporters and of course Eddie.

I find that in Melb, the two teams that people mostly have a soft spot for are the Swans and St.Kilda
I don't think we would have been laughed at....

I must admit there were two moments when I killed myself

Rhyce shaws "dummy" and Ben Johnson not making sure the ball went out - Akermanis snaffling it.

Never laughed so hard at a football game - can see C/wood supporters aren't coping with it at all.

I would be very surprised if that player group get over it - I expect a number of them will be removed over the next 18 months

Soft is the only way you can describe it

You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

          Would that be a back-stitch or a cross-stitch, Martin? Or maybe a chain-stitch?

i've watched the GF replay on Fox Footy about 5 times already, and can't get enough.

all my fave highlights are pretty well mentioned, but the best part of the day was phoning my collingwood supporting father (thank the lord my mother raised me) after the final siren, and getting hung up on! he he he

more priceless than a mastercard advertisement!

so "who wants to be a milLIONaire????"

too late to phone a friend Eddie!!!

                    cheers

I laughed out loud when Shaw was awarded the "Dyer-Rear Medal" from Roy & HG. It was awarded to either the worst player on ground or to the player that did the most stupid thing on ground.

At that point of Shaw attempting the "dummy" against Lynch HG shouted "Roy, We have a winner!"

They had hoped that Eddie would do the honours at the medal presentation which was being held in the Members toilets.

Ok, so it was purile and a woman my age should know better -
but as the Coodabeens say "you're only young once, but anyone can be immature!"

                      cheers
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
