    Player Priority

What does everybody think should be our trading priority this summer.

I am not talking about the draft, more so if we can grab one established player from another club what type of player should that be?

    For me KP CHB/FB

It has to be a key position defender.

Have to go with CHB/FB as priority number 1 but there are hardly any on the market that look too appealing (apart from Hay)

next priority is definately an inside midfielder. Bode should be our target if that was the case. If not if we can snare Brock Mclean in the draft i will be a very happy swan

I think first priority is a top-flight midfielder.

Second priority is either another ruckman or KP back. Depends on where LRT ends up to some extent, and also how well some of the other newbies come up.

Assuming that we don't trade up for a higher pick our first pick won't be until 16, given our late entry we should be taking the best available player regardless of position.

There's no point taking for example what may be the 5th best key position player in what the experts are calling a weak draft, when there may be a more talented on baller available.

This all changes of course should we be active in trade week

It has got to be a replacement for Cressa, if there is such a thing!

Only a quality CHB/FB, please. I like the looks of the options we have in the two's.

                        Lets have a look.

CHF/FB: Our defence played very well this year, and we have two candidiates would could grow into that role in LRT and James. I think we can leave this area alone for now. Although if Bradshaw came cheap, he would be worth considering.

Outside Midfielder: We are ok here. Willo is quality, Davis can play that role as well. If McVeigh came cheap, he would be worth considering.

Inside Midfielder: This is where we need a bit of quality, to replace Cresswell, and help out Jude. Not sure whats available, but this is the priority IMO.

Ruck: We will have Goodes (champ), Ball (good), Doyle (the big hope), and Meklejohn/LRT as a backup. I think we can run with these next year, but Doyle needs to take the next step.
We were able to have a good finals series missing Ball and Doyle, so should be in much better shape next year.

I'd like to see a midfielder of any sort. One of T.Johnson, McVeigh, Brown, Stevens, etc would be nice.

                          We NEED them all goddammit!!!
...definitely need a key position CHB/FB. This allows Saddo to be played in position (on a wing or flank) and takes a lot of the heat off Schaubs and B2...
Also need someone to replace Cressa as an outside midfielder...
If we can't manage the others (a non-fragile ruckman, and a gun in and under midfielder) then go for the first two as priority...
The problem is...are those type of players available, and if so are they interested in coming to Sydney...??? Let's talk to them all, especially Stevens, McKernan, Solomon, McVeigh...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

ive been harping on all season about how we need to trade to fill a few holes, however:

-if we cant snare a power or hayes
-if we cant snare a michael or hay

it will simply not be worth taking away another spot in the side... with the retirements from last year everyone got a better run and stepped up... with cressa gone, we could push o'keefe into the midfield more or fixter or thewlis or mcveigh or macleski or dempster etc etc etc

with a full preseason behind him, id like to see james used at FB and push schauble back to chb, if either of these go down, give LRT a go or powell or dempster or go back to saddington etc etc etc...

dont underestimate the quality of our list, dont listen to those melbourne idiots...

                            we are rebuilding...

                            star or nothing i say...

I agree. At best we will only pick up one good player via trading. Any more than that, and it means we probably had to sell the farm.
To get the best trade for least expense we need to leverage the homesickness (rare), get-away-from-it, or more opportunities aspects

Therefore I can only see McVeigh or T.Johnson, or maybe Bradshaw as likelies.
One of those for the loss of a fringe player and any picks 2nd round or above would be great.
