    Your heart would sink if?

Supposing the club did decide to chase one of the top quality out of contract Lions players - like Michael or Power - we would probably have to part with one of our better players in return (with picks as well I'd guess, unless it was Goodes, which it wouldn't be).

If you woke up in the morning to learn that X had been traded, whose name would most cause your heart to sink?

I reckon for me it would be Kennelly. It's been fantastic to watch his development over the last few years and I'm looking forward to seeing him grow into a really top-line player. I'd hate to think that would happen in any colours other than the R&W.

He's probably just the kind of player who would hold appeal for the Lions - relatively cheap at this stage but with huge potential for growth, plus he would add some dash to their team, something they're possibly lacking.

Totally agree about Tadhg Kennelly, I would be deveststed if he left. Although I think he would rather go home and play Gaelic football if he was'nt playing in Sydney, in fact Paul Roos has stated that he thinks that Tadhg will go back one day, hopefully after we have won a flag.
I would be disappointed if Jude Bolton was traded, he showed so much promise early on, then seemed to stop developing to the point he was being talked about as possible trade bait. But he has taken a huge step the past year as a player and a leader and role model to the younger players. I will always remember him telling LRT to slow things down in the last quarter of the Port game.

One thing to remember about any trade with the Lions is that it would be for either picks and/or a MUCH cheaper player. They are only doing it to save on the salary cap which for them is actually reducing next year. The only exception might be a complex three or four way deal.

My opinion is that the Swans will again be quiet on the trading front. I don't think any of the "improving" players (which is most of them) will be allowed to leave.

I think it unlikely that Hall, O'Loughlin, Goodes, Williams or Kennelly would be traded, and O'Keefe would not go north I think.

So for me, the sinking feeling would come from Kirk or Schneider or LRT, or maybe Barry.

Well, this is just the reason of my out of left field post last week...it'd be so tough.

For Mal Michael, Notting or Power, I wouldn't want to give up any of these quality players: Goodes, Hall, Magic, the Irishman, the Captains (both Stewie and Kirk), B1, Willo, Leo or the Schneiderman....oh, bu**er it, St Nick, Fossie, Ben, Ball, Doyle, the hyphen, B2, Schaubs, Crouchie, Seymour, Noggy.....

Hmmmmm, not sure who that leaves

Everyone wants to trade.....Why???? It may strenthgen our list for 2 years but everyone is forgetting the youth policy that effectively rules us out of any serious trading. The only player coming to Sydney over 27 in the next few years would be Lynchy who is great mates with Roosy, that will never happen though.
All our work will be in the draft periods as Roosy has full faith in our list and only wants to add to it

These two things are not mutually exclusive.

I'd hate to see J Bolton go, Mick, or Maxfield - all icons of the team. No point even mentioning Goodes as it just wouldn't happen.
