    Sun Herald Article

I havent seen anything of it yet here but Roos said that they werent interested in the trade period but the draft. They believe they have enough talent on their current list to win a premiership and dont wont to move anyone and have rightfully followed the youth policy to go for a hard midfielder and a KPP down back in the draft

Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

Im with Roosie too...we came damn close this year with the list we have...I don't think we need all that much more provided the ones we have can keep injury-free. That saids we could do with one or two extra players ...2 gun midfielders (1 to replace Cressa) and a backman... and a non-fragile ruckman would be great. Trouble is, there doesn't appear to be those types around, and if there are, we have been very quiet about showing interest. Maybe Notting will add something if we can secure him...easier said than done with Carlton and who knows else after him (why would anyone want to go to Carlton???? beats me!!)
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

That's why I thought trade period wouldn't be that interesting for a Swans fan but the draft would. I agree completely with Roosie.

That may be the case, but we have some pretty ordinary draft picks, so packaging up a few over-25 fringe players to try someone else, or get another top 20 pick doesnt sound bad does it?

I would think that the draft is going to be dead boring for us. We have only ordinary draft picks and most players out of the draft are fairly meaningless in the first season or two anyway.

Scott Stevens (mooted for trade) and Ablett (attracting some interest) were both mentioned in Herald Sun!

I am not sure I agree with Roos, we still have some shortcomings and the draft is not going to cover these in the short-term. With the picks we have unlikely to unearth a superstar either.

Adam Goodes was taken with pick 43 & Simon Black at pick 36 or so.

I know its unlikely but we could find some talent that the other teams just dont see.

                    Nah, they were guesses.

We were lucky, like every club is who gets a star with a late pick.

You can't rate them, otherwise they'd be a top 5 pick, so they are just players who haven't come into their own yet.

Of course we were lucky but in a few years it might turn out we did find a superstar in that draft.
