    Swans guernseys in BIG sizes

Just as an aside, I was buying my birthday present, a pair of Swans casual shorts, at the Puma outlet in Alexandria yesterday when I saw that they had Swans guernseys in sizes up to XXXXL.
I tried one on and I could even fit into it. (Whether it actually looked good on me is another point entirely.)

I didn't buy one as I think at age 30 I'm too old to wear a guernsey to matches and would rather wear a polo/t-shirt to matches. I think I'd rather buy one of those red and white "Arsenal" players polos.

The range of Swans stuff at the Puma outlet was realy very limited. A few of those white training caps, a couple of tank tops, some footy shorts, a few guernseys (both short and long sleeved). And track suit tops for $70.

If you're not too old to wave a flag, then you're not too old to wear a footy jumper IMO.

But don't you think once you get past 25 odd wearing your favorite guernsey to the game gets a tad naff. It's like wearing player badges. At finals time it is all systems go, but apart from that you get glared at.

You can still show your colours by wearing a polo. And you don't need to get changed for when you go out afterwards!

Regardless of whether we ike it or not, footy guernseys just are not attrctve fashion items. especially on big hephyrs like me.

Ya wuss jules! they're going to have to bury me in my guernsey because I'll keep wearing it til the day I die! I'm NEVER going to be too old to wear one (so says she of nearly 20y.o!)

I stopped wearing my jumper a few years back in 2001, that was because I no longer fit into it and I now rather wear a polo top.
            Once was, now elsewhere

I used to either wear my old polo top, my puma parker (circa 2000) or just a white top with my scarf.

I have never owned a Guernseys b/c they never looked right and i just look wrong in the short sleeve version. So this year I spoted a long Sleeve and bought one at PF final. Now I have it I might wear it to a few games next year. But I doubt i will..i now have a shirt to play soccer in and to wear around Argentina when i go there next March.

Ah, you have to buy me one Millionarios shirt when you are over there. Great colours you know!

I always wear the guernseys to every game even at the ripe age of 34. The only issue being is that to access the Noble stand you need sleeves (hence I basically wear a T-Shirt under it. And it is great inspiration to loose a few kgs so it doesn't look stretched around the mid section, in fact it did look stretched but last year trained a bit and dropped a few kgs so it looked a lot better last season to the one before.

Footy jumpers basically look good on women and young kids.

And as for grown men wearing footy jumpers with players autographs on them. Leave it for the framed wall hanging.

I bought a guernsey when I was in Sydney this season and now I wear it to every single match. I want to wear it for the rest of my life, but I guess coming from a 15 yo, it ain't a lot!

I've worn mine a few times, but generally wear a swans knitted jumper. Now it's been signed by most, I think I will have to hang it up somewhere.

I have too many player badges to wear, so Pebbles is on my scarf and the rest are on my backpack. They cover the entire front of the bag. I even have a retired section for those retired players. It rattles and jingles as I walk and never fails to get comments from those walking behind us, or the security on the gate

I may get funny looks due to my age (33), but I don't care. Proud to wear them.

There are many on this board who think the same of the players...

Also, I personally believe a football guernsey is OK to wear to the match...what I hate is seeing all the housos in the westren suburbs at the shopping centre on Sunday in their Western Suburbs scritch-scritch, Wests Magpies scritch-scritch Wests Tigers jerseys...usually with a beanie as well... LOL
You never do have an AK47 handy when u see one...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

There's some great merch about I reckon: certainly the Swans beanie is de rigeur for the night games. What about satin boxers for that romantic night in? (They do tend to ride up a bit and commit an occasional wedgie, though.)

I have a scarf complete with the VFL logo and Guinness stains on it received whilst holidaying in Dingle, Co Kerry (the stains, not the scarf) from one night when I was absolutely trousered (every night in Ireland you are required to get absolutely trousered).

Also a coffee cup circa 1986 - the old logo with the Swan & HB in the background.

Have been looking for the club tie to no avail.

Try Kmart mate. I wore one I bought for $20 odd that was red with "sydney" in running writing and little AFL posts. My days of wearing ties to work are over, but I'm still on the lookout for the tie which is basically our club guernsey (ie the yoke, Opera House etc etc.) Very loud, but very me!

I have a tie with all the guernseys of the AFL on it. I had the teremity to take it back because it had Collingwood on it 3 times and us only on the edge. The Swans Shop said I was the 5th person to complain about that!

A propo scarves, I have a selection of three I wear to games. My old one says "Sydney Swans' and set me back all of $5 when I bought it from the club. The old long scarves don't look the best though, so I often either wear my German FC Bayern "Balkenschal" (traditionally European ribbed scarf). It has a Swans logo on one end and a Bayern logo on the other so I can wear it at both sports. I also wear the jacquard-style soccer scarf, but mainly on warmer days. I don't leave the house without putting one of my scarves on, even when I'm heading to the airport on one of my trips. I like to advertise the fact that I support the Swans, and that there are Swans supporters passionate enough to travel interstate for their team.

As stated earlier, I generally wear a Swans polo to matches these days. And black pants so as to keep Madams Marney &b Haberman happy. I'll often throw on one of my FC Bayern soccer shirts, as I think I did in Canberra this year. Nobody seems to mind much, and you always get some shocked travelling German coming up to you at a match, which is cool.
