    Scott Stevens

the differance between pick 29 and pick 31 in terms of potential would have to be miniscule,
so basically we have given up stevens for pick 45.
Jesus, they must really have wanted to get rid of him !
I think we might regret this in years to come - cos at the very least S.Stevens has the potential to make it in the AFL, which is more than we can definatley say for pick 45 !!

Personally I think he's a great guy but sadly I never thought he was up to AFL standard as yet!

Maybe I have missed the point with the Stevens trade but you would have to think that Adelaide is the winner. That is , unless pick 45 turns out to be someone of special talent.

I think we used stevens to get a higher pick to on sell as part of a deal which didn't get over the line, I just cant see there being any other reason.

Probably a good bloke, but did nothing to suggest to me that he's a league footballer.

Wasn't it said a while back that they would pass on picks over 50. If that's the case then they will draft 4 players now instead of 3.

Also with Cressa, Frosty, Seymour and Warfe off the list and maybe a couple more it will leave space to promote from the rookie list and draft 4.

Maybe they sacrificed Stevens so they could promote someone they see as having a better future than Stevens. I would suggest Roos and Ireland are no dills.

Also no-one ever mentions Thewlis as a genuine improver next year when Powell and Hunt are the ones touted to be regulars.

From all reports Thewlis can play. Kicked 7 in a game didn't he.

Yes, but combine that with a player and it could make all the difference just depended on the demands of the other club or clubs.

Don't we have pick 48 so effectively trading Stevens for pick 45 was terrible as we are only using our first three picks which are now 17,29 & 45.

Unless Sydney have there eyes on a specific player who they believe wont make it to pick 48 this trase with Adelaide was awful.

Is the new draft pick going to win us a flag? O'Loughlin, Goodes, etc all picked 35-50 on spec.

Was Scott Stevens going to win us a flag? No.

                        Get the point!

Was Brett Kirk going to win us the flag?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Did he? In the best possible year he could have had? Where unline most taggers, in even a point roos has made, he beat every opponent very week, rather than just regularly?

Oh ye of little faith. We obviously don't know the grand plan. What does it matter if we win th flag next year?
I seem to recollect that Mr M O'Loughlin was picked in the late 40s early 50s and Mr A Goodes was number 43.
                              Bring it on!
