    Robert Foster-Knight

Am I correct in saying that Robert Foster-Knight is a NSW boy?

He has been delisted by SnDon today and maybe an option to bolster our height down back in a KPP role.

And before we get the usual deluge of "why would we want him when SnDon don't even rate him" replies, remember a change can sometimes bring out the best in a young fella.

P.S Would be great to see the two hyphens holding down the key defence posts, now that would be a handful for commentators

Why is that when a player from NSW looks like he might be "available", some one on the site gets excited about drafting him.

If he can't play (as is the case with Forster-Knight) then it doesn't matter if he is coming home and it might motivate him. If he can't bloody well play, he can't bloody well play.

Time and time again we have drafted duds in the past. No more thanks.

It is a National Comp, it doesn't matter where they hail from, as long as they can play footy and get the pill. No point in having a team full of duds from NSW.

Don't get me wrong - I know exactly where you're coming from and I agree - but I can't actually see where we've ever gone horribly wrong with recruiting NSW players.

We've currently got the likes of McViegh (who we can't judge because we haven't seen him) Schneider, LRT, Powell, Seymour, Davis, C-Bolt, Meiklejohn and probably a couple of others I can't recall right now on our list from NSW. I can honestly say that I'm not disappointed with the returns any of them have given us. You can add Kelly, Luff, McPherson (up until about 2001) et al to the list as well. NSW/ACT has been good to us.

          Charlie,

My point was not about who we had drafted, but how someone always gets excited about the homegrown "established" player who wants to come home.

On those you have listed, all but Davis (knew he could play) and Bolton (hardly sighted at Brisbane so no one could say he was ordinary) were drafted. Even Luffy was drafted, but didn't he grow up in Traralgon which makes him a Victorian. Certainly was not on any other team's list and I thought he played senior footy at Newcastle.

Foster-Knight was reasonably fancied as a draftee, don't know how good he is though. Not settling there does not mean he is a dud necessarily
