Not sure whether I like what this article says or not, particularly the bits about meeting and/or exceeding expectations. Just hope he doesn't sit back on his laurels now, because great as his improvement was this year, there is still plenty of scope for much, much more, and we need him to become one of the top dozen or so midfielders in the comp.

Must say, I was on the side who were touting this as his make or break year.
I thought it was more of a curtousy to him as a player. A formality if you will.
Didn't think he would come up.
But I have to say I am surprised with how well he did.
Probably the most important aspect of his game that need work is his decision making under pressure, but that will come with more experience as a leader in the midfield.
Look forward to seeing him continue the climb towards the top group of AFL players. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Thanks for putting it up, Lizz. I thought it a good article. I have always liked his hard-at-it attitude; even when he wasn't particularly accurate with disposals you knew he would give it a real go. I think he improved because he believed more in his capabilities, and in the light of what he achieved this year he has reason to believe he can achieve even more. I hope he keeps his sights high.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Interesting article.
He had pretty specific goals ie number of kicks, number of clearances per game.
With Cressa gone he will have to increase those goals.say 25 kicks per game and get plenty of clearances(our weakness)
I hope he is practising his running shots at goal.
I love his desperation.
I didn't read it as "I have made it" but I can see how that can be interpreted.I read it as Jude now knows he is good enough and he can add further improvement to his gameComment

Knowing Jude he's more likely to put too much pressure on himself by placing too high expectations on his output for next year.Comment

It was.
I almost smashed the telly after the second one.
But we won and it was a small blemish on what was a good year for Jude.Comment

I read this article on sydneyswans.com.au and I agreed with lizz that they were talking about him "Making it". He's a fantastic player and has had a fantastic season and I hope that he can improve even more.Sydney Swans Premiers 2005 - The Mighty BloodsComment

Draft choices
Some names to think about for the draft-David Trotter, Scott McGlone, Brent Stanton, backmen Beau Waters, DaVID mUNDY, Chris Stewart and some ruckmen Dawson and Brent Hall. There are plenty of good players in this draft. And Ray Hall-PDFComment

Yes it is our Scott McGlone-should he be drafted or not? I saw him at Port in the reserves and he was fast but neede to improve his ball handling, had plenty of desperation though. He must have improved at the reserves this season. A lot of peoplke seem to be impressed.Comment
