    Flying to games - Urgent

    Hi all,

Virgin has just started a sale of seats to just about everywhere in Australia (till Nov 5 for travel until June 2004). I went on line and booked a flight to see round 1 at the Gabba for $78 return (including taxes).

If you wanted to see the Weagles game it'd be $228 return. Good prices but I expect the sale seats will go pretty quickly.

See you all at the Gabba?

Well Cher and I have booked for the Bulldogs and Collingwood game and Cher has booked for the Freo Game.

      Great deals

Considering I miss the first 5 rounds as I will be o/s this will make up for it

ADELAIDE 12/6 IS LONG WEEKEND AND NO CHEAP FARES AT THE MOMENT

If you want to get on those flights, there will be friendly faces already booked on them.

And once you get to the Gabba, just buy a GA ticket through the club. And come and sit with us and the CULT Anti-Lions Cheer Squad behind the sticks. That means YOU Go Swannies & Swansbest! ;-)

The Gabba is the best ground in the league. I want to get things organised for Brisbane. I'd love having 30 up from Sydney with us behind the goals in Round 1.

          JF

PS:- If we were quick, we could maybe take in one of the theme parks during the day. Bare in mind that when you leave Sydney at 7am, you get to Brisbane at 7.15am!

            The Eagles match in Perth

I'll be getting in contact with our WA-based supporters club so that everyone books tickets in our Cheer Squad allocated area. If we are organised, by the reports of the numbers of our WA Supporters Club, hopefully we can have 50-100 Swans supporters together for the first time at a WA match.

The fans in South Australia (especially at the Crows match) really took to us, despite the fact that Peter & I really stirred them all up with out chanting.

I'd expect the WA fans to be no different.

            BRING IT ON!

Thanks for the information re the cheap tickets. I have booked for the Freo, Richmond, St Kilda and Collingwood games. But best of all my daughter is coming from Darwin to meet me for the Pies game. She won't have seen a game live for 18 months and is already excited.

Well, thanks to our friends at VB, I'm going to Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne (missing out on the Pt Adel game, but nevermind). Actually only 3 of the 6 flights are on VB, I went with Qantas for the other 3 - the cheaper flights booked out for VB, and slightly less insane flying times on Qantas.

Plus I'll already be going to Melbourne for Christmas and Brissie for a holiday in January... We're keeping the airline industry afloat here guys!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

One query re buying a GA ticket at the Gabba. You say buy 'THROUGH THE CLUB.' As a red head once said 'Please explain'. I guess you mean through the Swans in Sydney prior to going to Brisbane.

I've now booked for the Brissie game (on Qantas thanks to sane flight times) going up late Sat morning back Sun evening.

Also doing a day trip to Melb for the Ess game (allowing enough time for a post game dinner somewhere before a trip to the airport )

                    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Yes, I found that out THE HARD WAY last season, making the effort to take everyones cash, spend it, then have to buy all the tickets with my credit card drectly from the Lions. It was a frigging hassle.

Meanwhile people just bought tickets from Patrice at the office here in Sydney without any problems at all. (NOTEZ BIEN-West Australian-based members coming to the Eagles & Dockers matches!!!!)

I have to say this, but sadly the club has done a very poor job at publicising away ticketing (ie WA, SA, QLD) since Swans Travel has gotten on board. They were even somewhat obstinate I'm told about us even having supporters coaches to Canberra through fear of upsetting their new 'corporate partner'.

There is nothing stopping Swans Travel selling their own coach packages to away matches, thus saving the Cheer Squad etc from all the stress of organising buses, tickets etc.

But yeah Swansbest, you get tix from Patrice in the office, who is usually excellent at that sort of thing. (I just wished the club wold publicise it a bit, so that others can come and sit in a Swans area at matches such as Brisbane or Adelaide.)

Just booked mine for the Essendon Game 1 May, taking my daughter and it will be her first interstate trip ($39 each way/person). Went to the Freo game last year on cheap Virgin Blue tix.

The Virgin deals are terrific; it?s still worthwhile checking out Qantas as well. Qantas don?t have any $39 Syd ? Mel or Syd ? Bris fares but they do have LOTS of $69 fares, with a big choice of departure times; I often find it worthwhile to travel in one direction on one carrier and return on the other. You can achieve a great deal of flexibility mixing and matching airlines as well as getting a great deal price wise.

Is it possible to get tickets for non-members through Patrice if we go up to Birsbane?
