- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing! -
Can hardly remember Matthew Ahmat.
Played a few games for us in '94 I think. Recruited him from Footscray from memory? Could be wrong though.
I've got a few names.
- Andrew McGovern
- Richard Ambrose
- Stuart Mangin
- Corcoran (can't remember his first name)
- Kent Butcher (didn't play a game)
- Tony Begovich
- Brent Green
- Stefan Carey
- Brett Allison (terrible for us)
- John Hutton
- Ben Doolan (woeful)
- John Stevens (people liked him, I thought he was horrible)
- Scott (little bloke, can't remember his first name)
- Troy Gray
- Simon Garlick
- Paul Licuria (shocking with us)
- Anthony Rocca (ditto)
There are many more.... It's an absolute disgrace that Mott, Rose, Lawson, Fixter, Chapman, Holmes, McRae, Wheeler and Crawford got in ahead of some of the above.Bloods

Have to disagree with Paul Licuria.
Out of all our player losses over the years, he is the only one I really didn't want to let go.
I remember thinking at the time that the reason given "that we had no room in the midfield for him" was short sighted and disappointing.
Thought that maybe we could have held on to himThe difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Im thinking we should make our own list a this was obviously made by a non-swan supporter.
I mean come on how can you choose Amon?Comment

Brett Allison!
Hey, lay off Begovich, he had a tackle in the game that broke the 26 game losing streak (0 kicks, 0 handballs though).
Did you agree with Brett Allison or are you disagreeing?Bloods

How about, in the lumbering big man department, Brent Green?
Actually I seem to remember him kicking 3 goals or so in one of the few games he played for us.
what about the other dud Brisbane dumped on us Simon Hawking
In return for those 2 we gave them draft pick 31 and that turned out to be Simon Black
good deal ....NOTComment

Wow what a trip down bad meory lane.
I remember all of those fighting 10 goal losses.
Here is my team, mind you I had to think hard because occasionally I would remember a good game played
B Hawking Wilson Corcoran
HB Tingay Rouvray Ryan
C Wheeler Daffy Russell
HF Bomford Gray Higgins
F Fell Wigney Phyland
R Barling Atkins Stanislaus
I Sangster Begovich Bryce McKenzie.
Wow a memory of when we were a reject dumping ground.LRT + Schneids + The Mullett = hope for the future.Comment

Some of these names are quite ridiculous, I know it is a matter of opinion but it is NOT just a list of names you can remember. We have had a large share of duds, but as a long, long suffering Swans fan I certainly think these are unfair to include.
Wheeler
Fixter
McGovern
Lawson
Chapman
Higgins
Orchard
Athorn
Daniels
Scott
And some players hardly played a game through injury or other circumstance. Some players racked up possessions and were champions when we were really down the toilet....some players got games and really never did anything! Most of the players nominated played less than 10 games, the ones I worry about is who got a fair go and were hopeless!
IMO well worth mentioning
Allison archtype footsteps, no Carey guarding his back....let me out of here!
Russell soft, one good game
Rocca did not want to be here
Nettlebeck always looked totally lost
Gaspar rubbish, and I maintain that view
Doolan thankfully just he and Sheeds believed in his ability and the Dons paid him $200k not us!Sports do not build character. They reveal it....Heywood Broun
I always turn to the sports pages first, which record people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures......Earl WarrenComment
