    Swans can forget Morrison

We can forget in snaring ex Lion Morrison (ie if there was still interest) . The Tigers will be frantic now that the have missed Copeland and will now probably take Morrison and
may even push for Brad Seymour. The LIONS ARE AMAZING THE WAY THEY HAVE RETAINED THEIR TEAM .

    Copeland re-signs with Lions
    November 21, 2003

DUAL AFL premiership winner Robert Copeland has ended weeks of speculation and re-signed with the Brisbane Lions.

Copeland was the only player on the Lions playing list yet to commit himself to the club for 2004 but informed coach Leigh Matthews of his decision late this afternoon.

He attracted keen interest from both Richmond and Melbourne and was tipped to be nominating for the draft.

However, the 22-year-old is expected back on the training track with his team-mates on Monday after missing yesterday's pre-season opener.

"Because there has been a fair bit of conjecture about Robbie's future, I can confirm he has re-signed with us," Matthews said.

"We are very pleased he has re-signed with the club."

He has played 53 senior AFL games and was a part of Brisbane's 2001 and 2003 premiership teams.

Not sure that Copeland staying with the Lions will have any impact on where Morrison lands up. With a lot of clubs showing interest in him, Morrison ceased to be a PSD option as soon as he nominated for the ND. He may well land up at Richmond but if they're desperate for him they'll probably have to use at least their 3rd round pick, and maybe even that will be too late.
