Yeah... I like the 9 pointers in the Wizard Cup... I hope Roosy starts Nick Davis at HFF or Wing or some such instead of FP
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
Originally posted by JF_Bay22_SCG I get annoyed when people merely refer to the Wizard Cup as a pre-season training comp. It is a trophy, hence I want to win it!
We have won nothing since 1981. The Night Flag was still a flag as far as I'm concerned.
Winning the Wizard Cup is still worth doing, just quietly.
If we did well, and had a final in Sydney, could you imagine the roll-on effect it would have for memberships and early-season exposure for the Swans.
I say, play it as if you want to win in. Port and the Crows do, and generally come out on top.

I don't think we are actually in a position to win the WC. I mean, we don't have an established list, so we have to use it as a training track for our youngsters and emerging senior players it's as simple as that.
Everyone who takes the track is trying to win the mini-contests but some of these kids are going to be too inexperienced to beat, one on one the established players of Brisbane or Port.
