Wouldn't be a bad list of developing kids from what I've read.

Except that a lot of other clubs might be thinking the same. In particular, Gayfer will probably be on the hit list of several clubs and we don't have a first pick in the rookie draft until relatively late.
Also we stand almost no chance of a player like Furfaro. Brisbane has the same right as Sydney to nominate local players as priority picks and you'd have to think Furfaro will be one they'll choose. Likewise, though, it means that Potter is almost certainly Sydney's unless someone sneaks in and picks him in the pre-season draft.

isnt the rookie draft like an hour earlier than the PSD...
Didn't realise we had zone stuff at all anymore....so how many locals can we snaffle? (I'm assuming you mean that we get them prior to the rookie draft proper...and don't they then do something weird like not actually call out the priority names until the last round sof the draft?)
Naturally the tongue was in the cheek about getting all those players

Pretty sure it's three - and yes, we do get to name them up front so that no-one else can take them. Plus its a more generous concession than the old one that used to exist for the main list (under which LRT was taken) in two ways:
1 They can come from anywhere in NSW/ACT, rather than just the greater Sydney area; and
2 They can be counted as additional rookies to the normal six that other clubs are allowed (after adjusting for veterans). Thus the Swans could choose to have 9 rookies on their list next year if they wanted, although they've rarely done this in the past.
Last year Crawford, MJ and Bevan were all taken as rookie priority picks.
Lizz,
Congratulations on your 1000th posting. Thanks for the information on rookies. I wondered why in the lists in the paper there were 9 rookie spots - I wonder why the Swans don't fill all the spaces.
Nick Potter will definately get picked up somewhere, it would be nice if he did get picked by sydney. He'd be a realistic chance of getting promoted to the Senior List in the following years. He's a tireless worker and very skilled and was unlucky not to get taken in the draft.
