I think with such a young list his leadership around the club is the most likely reason he is still around.................Warfe on the other hand I am afraid is well and truely past his used by date

Unfortunately Nicks just looked "disinterested" in the reserves whereas Warfe was clearly making a big effort.

How much of that disinterest was real or was it a case of the mind was right but the body just could not physically asking it to do?

For me you don't lose how to play the game, it's more a case of your mind is right but the body just can't close the deal. That's when confidence goes and you start to play for your life and not the team.

IMO Nicks played to the level the Reserves demanded of him. He played it pretty cool out there. Given we were finals bound, I felt he should have played his guts out to ensure senior selection, where instead he just got the job done. As DST suggested though we do not know just how niggling his injury was.

If he's focused and stays away from injury I still expect good things from him next season. And at Senior level.

Hard to judge an injured man, look to biger things from a man with motivation to use his skills.
