Yep, you can get that (Public area, full club membership). According to the membership renewal booklet, it'll cost you $230 (adult), $125 (concession) or $40 (junior). That's for the 12 games in Sydney. A bit less for the standard season ticket without full membership.

For the reserved seats, you can actually on-sell your seats if you're unable to attend. You call up the hotline, quote your membership number or seat number and it goes back to ticketek. If it's sold, you get credit towards the next year's membership.

Unfortunately you can't do that if you don't have a reserved seat.

I guess contact swans membership if you're interested.. they send out a form to fill in, then when the cards are ready, you receive them in the mail.

    hope that helps.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Just to add to what Des said, you don't need to "pick up your tickets", as such. You get sent a card (about the size of a credit card) with a barcode which gets you access to the ground for each match.

Also another problem with an unreserved membership is if it is a full house and you don't get there in time to get a seat, your membership doesn't mean anything, you just don't get in. It's been a while since that happened though, but if things go well you may have start rocking up VERY early to make sure you get in

It'd be worth getting a reserved seat in the concourse.

You reckon Destructive? What happens if you are stuck near a moron every week? You cannot escape!

The solution is easy, get there 30 minutes before every match. And you'll have no problems finding a seat. Especially as when I arrive an hour early, I'm one of only 6-10000 people already in the ground.

There are quite a few regular cliques these days in the GA section up the back of the hill at the SCG anyway these days.

You could always sit with the Cheer Squad too, you know. Near guaranteed GF ticket, the feeling of being an official supporter etc etc.

I'd go with the reserved seat on the concourse. If you get stuck with a moron, you can elect not to sit there and go and sit in the GA section. Or put up with it and move next year.

I'd prefer to sit with a swans moron, than some of the feral fans from the opposition like we did the first year of our membership.

As JF said, the cheapest option is an unreserved seat and a CS membership - much cheaper and some perks invovled too! Plus we always want committed people to come and give us a hand geeing up the crowd!

As far as I'm aware this only happened once for the Lockett 1300 match

The first time it happened was the Geelong game in 1996, when "suddenly" everyone realised that the Swans weren't just a flash in the pan. They opened up the footy stadium next door to show the game on the screen to those turned away.

The Geelong game the following year actually attracted an even larger crowd but I can't recall if anyone was actually turned away. Similarly with the Lockett game.

There were a lot turned away for the second Geelong game, including some SCG Gold members. You can imagine what they said.

The aisles in the Noble Stand were chockers with people sitting. Must have breached avery safety rule in the book.

It was that game that prompted the membership capping for the members reserve.

I am also about to purchase my membership. Is there any particular advantage with public seating over members reserve??

Mainly price and the ability to choose between full club membership or season pass. Members reserve has generally better viewing, facilities and is substantially undercover.

Both offer the flexibility of bringing friends and sitting with them, although to be honest I have done so in reserved concourse seating without any problems. There are aways gaps around us where friends can sit.
