What about a Swans invasion of Brissie for Rd1

    Just checked some airfares.

Fly out Saturday morning/arvo for $69 and back on Sun for $145 with Virgin Blue.

Qantas is even cheaper with $99 out and $103 back.

Plenty of notice folks. No excuses. How good would it be to have hundreds of Swans fans there en masse AND we would witness what it is like to see home supporters have a flag unfurled in front of them

We could either sit with the CS or for those like me who like a cold one with their footy we could go through the club and block book a section.

I should add that many of you snapped up the $75 sale price from Birgin earlier on, but these prices are still pretty keen.

In the recent Virgin sale I managed to get $78 return to Sydney. Hard not to go at that price.

I booked my trip to Brissie on Nov 1. 135 or so return on Qantas. Looking forward to it!

I also booked my trip for Round 1 during the Virgin sale a month back. I think most of the regulars on here will be up there

You just have to sit with the Cheer Squad, most of us will anyway and if you book though the club your more than likely going to end up with us anyway.

JF - whats the go with tickets??????

I'll let you you. I'll contact Patrice at the office in January or February.

Personally I don't care if a guy wants to have a drink in our area. The anti-Lions Cheer Squad guys who were there last year certainly did. Yet there were no problems, with the locals being relaxed and mellow in their banter. As long as it is discrete and nobody gets unruly. Then I'll cop the **** for it.

Considering the hell I cop for being sneaky and getting my big flag in, I'd rather avoid that as well next season.

JF-aiming on being even sneakier next year.

Personally I think the no drinking rule in the Cheer Squad area is stupid, as long as you don't go over the top I think there shouldn't be a problem.

What you going to get 2 of them in this time

I can't wait, not only is it the start of the season, but I'll have most of Saturday stewing in a bar somewhere getting ready

Guys, last season there was a huge Swans contingent up in Brisbane. But apart from the Cheer Squad/Anti Lions guys, only Go Swannies and his son opted to come behind the goals and join us. We need EVERYONE who is coming to come and sit around us. No booking of set-seats needed. Just buy an undereserved seat in the GA section and rock up around our area. There are only about 20-30 roped-off seats. Those wanting to drink can simply sit directly behind us and grab a flag etc etc.

The club still sells an allocation on the half-forward line. I'm hopefully going to have a word to see if they can do as they do in Adelaide and sell only GA seating with us.

The Gabba is the best ground in the league. And the Swans will be gunning to knock off the premiers on the day they unveil their flag to everybody (that will be a weird experience!)

So come on Sydney people. Stop being individualists and come and sit with your fellow Swans fans. Those who sat with us last year can voucher for what an unreal time we had there behind the goals, singing "I wanna be a poncho man" as well as the other SCG favourites.

Might even bring the old drum up as well to stir the locals up even more.

PS:- Robbie, why not 3 flags mate?

Why not the whole bloodly lot of them

Seriously, I'll be bringing up my set of flags so, with your ones from the Cheer Squad, plus any extras you decided to bring we'll have plenty to go around.

BTW I was watching the Lions game a week back and with the way things are looking in terms of people going up, we'll look even better this time round if we get everyone sitting together.

Plus I love the idea of the drum.

                        Not long to go now

If I were an octupus, I could mate. But as last year I will be needing the help of Greg Bell and our Qld/SA flag sticker storers to transport our stuff north. The more in our gang, the better everything will be.

Just on flags Gemma, is anyone going to attempt to re-sew the Cheer Squad ones? The way they are now is silly, as the logos are all lop-sided (ie side-on). A lot of those little hook things could be chopped of as well, as Cher has done with the Victorian based flags.

And when are we going to have our banner-making days CS gang. We need a few handheld signs that we can bring to matches.

In oher news, Tek's at Marrickville (hetero) Metro are selling inflatable Swans for $4. I have one in my room watching that I don't get into mischief.
