    Melbourne Cheer Squad

For all you Melbourne supporters who are in the cheersquad - I am pleased to announce after being on the waiting list for a week or so I have snapped up a spot to be part of the Melbourne based cheersquad. So who else is on the cheersquad in Melbourne from RWO?
I signed up for a few reasons - to be guarenteed to sit with my fellow supporters - to get a guarenteed seat at each game and to get close to the action.

Are there any other reasons I forgot to mention or don't know about?

    Regards

I'm the big scary-looking bearded bloke who comes down from Sydney for each Melbourne game. There are a good crew of Cheer Squad members here on RWO (Swansrock4eva, Anniswan, Charlie, Jixygirl, RobbieAndo, Les Cygnes, Cher). In both Cheer Squads the back row is the place to be. And seems to be where most of the chanting eminates from.

The email list and now RWO has helped immeasurably in getting committed Swans supporters to not only sit together, but to get involved and wave a flag or flogger. Things in Melbourne are especially social, with a good group meeting up at a pizzeria after the After-Match at Bells in Moray St.

What else can I say but welcome to the crew? Enjoy the ride!

Good on you, always can do with extra help. I sure we met a few years back before the St Kilda match, so just hunt me down on match day and enjoy.

Try to attend some banner making, its usually a bit of fun (and hard work too)

Just a quick question for those who are already on the melbourne cheersquad - i was just wondering have I saved myself alot of money in securing grand final ticket preference if the swans make it by being part of the Melbourne cheer squad ?

Because I got the $79 membership - and I noticed this new premiership club membership which cost $175 and that gets you a guareenteed grand final ticket if your team makes it. But being on the melbourne cheersquad now do I get a guarenteed grand final ticket anyway because I am part of the cheersquad ?

Seeing as we have 300 spaces (150 in each squad) and only 230 Grand Final tickets if we make it, your more than likely to end up with one. If you get involved like myself, JF, Cher and Ann you improve your chances.

Robbie - how do mean get involved more ? - tell me how I can and I will try to do that.
How do they allocate 230 into 300? obviously some people wont go but surely there would be more people wanting to go than tickes allocated - so is it first in best dressed in terms of cheersquad members fighting it out for a spot?

Go to all matches and sit with us, go to banner making, things like that.

Yes it will be, but I wouldn't worry, as I doubt every member from Sydney will come down.

Does anyone know if we get any extras thrown in for being in the cheersquad - as I was down at the swans melbourne office today paying my cheersquad membership fee and the young girl said she thinks that us in the cheer squad get some extra stuff thrown in - maybe a scarf or something?

Robbie you know anything mate? Or anyone else?

Last season we got a Cheer Squad Cap and a team poster thrown in, plus you got a membership card. Other than that, I wouldn't think there would be anything else thrown in this year, maybe a t-shirt but its been a few years since we all got one.
