    Swans: The six rookies!

Today the Sydney Swans added six rookies to the current list. Those rookies are as follows:

    1. AARON ROGERS
    Born: 05/01/1984

    Height: 192cm

    Weight: 86kg

Almost 20 years of age, this X-Rams player was drafted to Melbourne but delisted this year. A key forward player.

    2. SCOTT McGLONE

    Born: 25/07/83

    Height: 184cm

    Weight: 73kg

McGlone has been retained on the rookie list for a third time. The former Bendigo Pioneer played 22 games in 2003 for the Sydney Swans Reserves in the Canberra competition. Midfielder originally from Echuca.

    3. DANIEL HUNT

    Born: 08/05/84

    Height: 193cm

Was delisted this year after two years at the Swans but has been given another opportunity at the club on the rookie list. Originally from South Fremantle, he has been hampered by injury.

    4. LUKE TAYLOR

    Born: 21/01/85

    Height: 190cm

    Weight: 75kg

Originally from Culcairn and played for the Murray Bushrangers, a tall utility player. Represented NSW in the Under 18's Championships. Has impressed coaching staff during his involvement in Swans preseason training.

    5. NICK POTTER

    Born: 12/06/85

    Height: 181cm

    Weight: 80kg

Strong midfielder from Pennant Hills, who also joined preseason training at the club and represented NSW in the Under 18's Championships. Played a couple of games for the Swans Reserves this season in the Canberra League, catching the eye of the coaching staff.

    6. PAUL BEVAN

    Born: 27/09/84

    Height: 181cm

    Weight: 73kg

Bevan has been retained for a second year on the Swans rookie list. He had a solid year in the Swans Reserve and impressed the club with his improvement throughout his first season. Has got off to a great start in all aspects of his preseason training program to date.

Sensible choices really - your chances are actually pretty fair of developing one of Hunt, Rogers or Taylor into a key defender if you give them the time.

    Sensible recruiting IMHO.

Hopefully one or two of these kids crack it in the big time
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler
