Perhaps it was his connections or perhaps his experience that got new Sydney Swans assistant coach Ross Lyon his job. Most likely, it was a combination of the two...

    Jobs for the boys!!!

10 years on Ross Lyon finally gets to Sydney - hmmmmm.

OK Roosy will forgive you this once
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

If he did get the home solely on the basis he is a good friend of Roos, I don't have a problem with that, after all shouldn't Roos assistants who he can trust, not ones ploting behind his back???
      Once was, now elsewhere

Yeah i don't have a problem with jobs for the boys (or girls!) if they are good enough.

As long as he isn't going to be Roosey's yes man, it should be a good fit, he is coming in with very good credentials.

You just don't want an assistant coach who's only contribution is "great idea roosey" lol.

          these posts say it all

          1. a coach will always choose people he trusts

          2. he comes with good credentials

importantly he has been at a few clubs under several top coaches so brings the ideas of what works and doesnt work at sucessful clubs...which is great for a newer coach like Roos

i am sure Malaxos was a great help following his successful years at West Coast, and John Longmire had lots of success at the Kangaroos...and seems to be doing great stuff at the Swans

Judging by his previous experience at assiting, I think he more than fits the criteria.
