Full Article - Sydney provides a lot of benefit to the SCG - about time they looked after us better.
.......especially as now we have the option of moving groundsYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler -
The situation regarding a pre-season training ground has dogged the Swans ever since they came to Sydney, we get a similar story to this one every year; BUT NOTHING GETS DONE ABOUT IT!!!!!!!
Lakeside Oval (the Sydney one) is NOT the answer to the Swans pre-season facility woes; there can be no guarantees that the surface will be satisfactory because it?s open parkland; it?s basically accessible to anyone who wants to trample on it 24/7. It?s time that the club?s hierarchy took urgent action to establish a permanent pre-season training facility; throwing piddling amounts ($25,000) at the Centennial Park Trust to maintain Lakeside Oval to the standards required is laughable.Comment

This is a bug bear of mine mostly cause I think cricket is boring.
Use grounds like the SCG for International cricket (same goes for the Gabba and MCG) - but for the 2nd rate state guys - let em play on suburban ovals - let Sydney train on the SCG in Summer.
It is an anachronism that 2nd rate insignificant little cricket teams cause these problems by using stadium in the summerYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

unfortunatley the cricket heirarchy will never see our pov on this no matter how much money we bring them.
The Swans must stop piddeling around and get super slick and proffessional in these peripheral areas in my opinion , if we are to go on and reach our potontial as a power house club. All these little niggles have an effect on a clubs psyche and performance I beleive.
The swans are in a position where a couple more really good seasones under their belt, and they could develope some real muscle in their negotiations, but they seem to be very afraid to demand their share from a managment point of veiw.Comment

Considering that we've gone and committed ourselves to the SCG through the building the Basil Sellars Centre, I don't think our bargaining position is THAT strong.
It'd be ridiculous having the players go out to Stade Oz to do training, then hop on a bus back to the SCG to use our state-of-the-art gym facilities. We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!Comment

Could we do a deal with Sydney Boys' High to use Mackay Ground in the pre-season? (I assume they still use it.) And train on the SCG in the season? Whatever, this is a basic, not a luxury. It needs fixing. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

When the WCE were formed they didn't have a home ground of any sort .the eagles only really gained power when they got permanent training facilities and use of Subiaco .The Dockers are ramping up now in part to new facilities at Fremantle .So it does play a part in performance .give it to the gameComment

Being an ex Sydney High Boy myself, the Swans used to use McKay for pre-season training when I was at the wschool (finished in 96). Now obviously its been a while since I played on McKay, but I can't imagine a hell of a lot has changed in terms of ground conditions since I was there (it was always atrocious), and I'd be willing to bet that Lakeside, no matter how bad the condition it is in, would still be a better option than McKay Oval.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

with Aussie Stadium, they'd be sharing schedules with the Roosters. But that could work.
Although some of their standard drills could be carried out here, one of their main gripes about using the school ground they are currently using is the fact it's not full size and they need the ground size to execute some of their practice drills. Here's my heart and you can break it
I need some release, release, release
We need
