Good to see that James and Schauble appear to be cleared for play after injury reports last week.

No thanks. In 41 degree heat, I don't want Goodes, Hall or Schauble anywhere near Stadium Australia. Play the kids.

looking at the forecast now, its 29 degrees for the city on sunday, with rain developing. Which may mean max of 33 at most at Telstra Stadium.

Has the forecast changed? I thought it was going to be 41.

                Won't complain though.

Wizard Cup allows 6 interchange in normal course of events and if the temperatures reach those it is predicted (notwithstanding suggestions above that forecasts may have changed) the AFL may allow 8. So most of these guys should get a go.

Bevan, McGlone and Meiklejohn should be shoe-ins. Rogers and Hunt need opportunities to show what they've got given they're both into their third years in the system, though maybe they are similar types. Davis got enough of the pill last weekend to suggest he might be worth the punt. Willoughby looks too slight at the moment to play in this company, albeit it's only the WC.

Roos is on record as saying that Meiklejohn is too small for a ruckman, and would be moulded into a key position player. So there must be a good chance that he wiil get a regular start at CHB in the pre-season.

That worries me slightly because I'm not sure I've ever seen him take a mark, certainly not in an even slightly contested situation. Last weekend I noticed several contests where he went up but didn't seem to have a clue how to position his body or hands, and never got close.

Hopefully it is just a confidence thing and it will soon "click" for him, but I reckon your CHB has to be able to catch the thing!

                            Yikes!

                            Can't ruck . . . . can't mark . . . . and averages 1 kick per game.

I am a little surprised re the comment by Roos about Meiklejohn being too small for ruck duties. He is 197 cm and 97kgs . Adam Goodes is 193 cm and 97kgs. Last Saturday Goodes mainly played ruck rover to Meiklejohn and things went OK. Just how tall should a ruckman be?

As mentioned by Lizz , Meiklejohn is not strong overhead but I think he might perform well as a purely defensive CHB. IMO the better option would be LRT who is reasonably strong overhead with greater mobility and has experience in the Reserves in that position.

I still believe Meiklejohn is a ruckman and not a KPP. I wait to be proven incorrect.
