    Holding the ball rule

Is there some new rule where you get pinged if you are holding the ball even if you can't possibly get rid of it. So far 2 of these have been awarded against the Swans.

The best thing about this new rule is - you don't even have to tackle the player - just sit on him - preferably at least 2 blokes sit on the player with the ball - free kick.

BBBBH looks pretty good. First time I have seen McVeigh - he looks to be good too - quick and not bad disposal.

Bolton, got a 50 metre free from about the 60 metre mark, so it's becomes a supergoal even though he only kicked it from not far out.

Oh and Heath James got pollaxed and is injured.

James will be ok - he walked off with the help of trainers so I don't think it will stop his pre season.

Only players going at the moment are BBBBH, Buchanan, McVeigh, Bolton and Goodesy when he is on.

Rogers was out of his depth on Fevola but he is a hard match up - Rogers can play a bit though. Schneider is going pretty well too I suppose.

Don't agree the holding balls so far have been a little hot but not outrageous, what about Kirks tackle on hume hardly a free to Kirk so the way I see it what u lose on the swings u get on the roundabouts.

Of more concern is the poor showing of our second tier players in the first half.

The holding the ball decisions so far are not in the spirit of the game - you must have prior opportunity to get rid of it! Also you must be physically able to dispose of the ball - pretty hard when 2 blokes are doing the 'stacks on the mill' to you.

Carlton will be more competitive this year as they have recruited quite a few 'good ordinary footballlers' - to quote Jack Dyer.

All it will do is lessen the severity of their losses in my opinion.

Agree with that list, lets hope the second half can see some improvement.
