Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Wow, kinda harsh for a guy who has played less than ten senior games. And Frosty wasn't so bad... a handy footballer

LRT at least looked lively and composed last week against the Bummers so maybe we can just put this one down to a bad day at the office.

I'd be slightly worried if one of Geelong's assistant coaches was taking notes from our bench! Must have confused him with someone else.

Two games, two losses, two beltings from opposing key forwards and two injuries to Heath James. Not exactly a promising sign for the 2004 season.

Okay, bag Saddo all you want, fair enough but Schauble was frickin' towelled up by Fevola! How hard is it to get a fist on the ball? Apparently it's a one in ten chance.

Shouldn't the coaching staff think about changing the match-ups (ie Schaubs v Fevola) when we are getting flogged? I know it's only a warm up and maybe it was good practice for Schauble but surely the coaching staff should have been practicing winning a game when we are being outplayed? I dunno.

Kirk was great, at the bottom of more packs than Kel'!

The delivery into the forward line (what there was of it) would have left a forward line of Capper, Plugger and Cazaly scoreless. It has to reach the forwards (first) and on the full!

It was pretty gut wrenching to watch the whole thing. At first I thought there was some dodgy umpiring (old habits), but really I couldn't complain about that. By the end I was bloody mindedly thinking that it would be at least interesting if Carlton beat us by 100.

You cant expect a rookie to match well against a senior player. And its not easy to play when there aren't any senior players to support u.

I think a major point of this game is to let the rookies experience what its like and i think they have an idea of how much is really required from them in order to have a future in this game.

I dont think the game was disappointing at all.
Agree and disagree. It wasn't a serious game (as far as Sydney was concerned) but if you lose by over 100 points you deserve criticism regardless of the variables. I'm not certain what Roos was trying to achieve by playing so many youngsters. Would it not have made more sense to play 6 this week then the other 6 next week. I disagree that it gives rookies an opportunity to experience what it's like at senior level. When was the last time a senior side fielded 12 newcomers unless by necessity? Slotting them in one or two at a time would allow the adequate level of support to be able to determine just what they do have to offer. The quality of the team can often be a reasonable indicator of the quality of the individual. Compare Des Headland's 2003 with his 2002 for example.

Personally I'm glad that my Sunday morning hangover was sufficiently annoying enough to dissuade me from visiting Homebush on Sunday. It was excruciatingly dull from the couch, I can't begin to think how pointless an exercise it must have been for those that attended.

Good signs - C Bolton, Schneider, Buchanan

New / newish faces that impressed - Rogers, Schmidt

Time wasters - Saddo (I'm not a Saddo basher but his spoiling and kicking were lamentable at times)

LRT - worst I've seen him play. Absolute shocker. Can't allow himself to play any more of these.

Schaubs got beaten by Fevola, but last year he got beaten by Lynch and came good. I'm not concerned about his performance. Once he gets some backline and midfield support he will be fine.

Nine goals to one in the last qtr is rather disappointing - you would think that the guys would have enough pride and work ethic to at least put in a bit more at the end.

Also, don't underestimate how well Fevola played. I know he got in front of Schaubs for most contests but Schaubs was normally close enough to provide a contest. Fevola took some very very good marks under pressure and knew how to use his body and leap to prevent Schaubs spoiling.

James received the inner ear injury - but rest of body okay - he did look much better when the game was over - even had the phone to that ear and was quite cheery with the guys.

Fixter was asked by Luff "is it a bad injury" and Fixter thankfully replied "no" and pointed to the front left hand side of his ankle, and seemed okay.

I'm not overly concerned, as has been mentioned, they were a bunch of kids trying to play against a group of seasoned players.

They did look lost and if we had our main midfield there it would've been a different story.

Rogers was good again, seemed to gain confiedence from the Bombers match. McVeigh was impressive. Schnieds was as cool as a cucumber. I thought LRT looks to be struggling and was labouring around the field.

And each time Saddo went near the ball I had everything crossed. On those occasions he messed up I was just imagining the bagging he'd get here. He did make some errors, some of his disposals not so great, but there were others that were fine. I think the jury has to remain out on this one. Not really the game to make rash calls.

As bad as the Swans were - the umpires were worst.
If this is a sign of things to come - look out!!!!!!!!!

I was sitting right behind the players bench with Norris Lurker and his harem. Barry was sitting almost in front in the second half. We got a close up of his nose. It was sickening. It did'nt stop bleeding for quite a while.

I glad that it's only the preseason cause if that had been round one, I would have said we were shot ducks for this year, I did'nt see one positive thing,

On top of that, the 2 guys who really killed us today were Fevola and Camporeale who both played pretty much the entire game.
