As I stated in another thread:

Whoever the groundsman is at this ground should be fair dinkum - shot!

It was bloody terrible - does anyone what this ground has been used for over the last month?

    It was bordeline dangerous today

It has always been like that. Anyone who has been on the ground after a game will tell you how slipery and dangerous it is for those without any studs. Im not sure why the groundsman keeps this grass so wet and slippery, cos it has been 30 degrees plus for about a fortnight in the west. There has to be a change in staff there, no sport requires grass like that.
      - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

On the tele it looks like the root system is about a millimetre deep.

Maybe it is suffering from the same problem as Randwick race course. I understand it has a very hard weed to remove that sits on the surface and makes it slippery.

Agreed something needs to be done before a bit law suit presents itself. I thought Carlton kept their feet better than us, particularly as the game wore on.

We left at half time because we had to go somewhere else ... sounds like that was a good move!

However, I was seriously worried about the field. Players were constantly slipping. After Heath got hurt, my reaction was to take all our players off the field and let Carlton do what they could. The ground was awful. In front of us, there were obvious patches, plus the constant slippages.

The best thing about today was the players who didn't play. At least they didn't have an opportunity to get hurt.

I remember the ground was poorly prepared for the Prelim final last year, with the sprinklers being turned off only a few hours before the start of the game. This affected the Swans badly, since they prefer dry grounds.

In some spots they were kicking up more sand than a beach volleyball competition.
