    The Saddington thread

Can we try and keep all the Saddo bashing on one thread guys?
I'm just a little bored by the fact that half the threads on here have all turned into the same argument about Saddington

I wouldn't have said half - I think there were 3 out of the past couple of dozen.

One was after people thought he was ordinary in the Carlton game.

One was after people thought he was ordinary in the Collingwood game.

One was strangely turned from a Doyle thread into a Saddo thread.

Congrats Jason on achieving your current bagging status

You join such useless hacks as Adam Goodes and Jude Bolton who have been similarly pillarised.

I think you'll find the word is pilloried.

Anyway, would hate to criticise someone being paid a 6-figure sum to play a game. Perhaps it would be simpler if everyone took a leaf out of some people's books and wrote the same standard thing after every game - "jude was good he is a good player he played well jason was good too adam was great excellent game they payed well and can only get better." There, that seems like a good model to follow...

Charlie I understand your point but whizz fizz our not surely it is worrying to us who think Saddo is out of form - that everyone of the other senior players in the team hasn't taken a backward step - why should it be ok for saddo to be performing below his usual standard (to those who believe he is) when everyone of the other players seems to be travelling nicely - whizz fizz or not ?

But this is exactly the point, we are two practice games into 2004 in a year after he has just missed 10 of the last 13 games and people are analysing him to the hilt.

Further more, other RWO's are using the opportunity to state the case that his 5 previous seasons were not up to scratch and that he is a dud, based solely on the his last few games last year.

I will be the first one to come on here in round 9,10 or 11 and call for something to be done about Saddo (new position, stint in the reserves) if he is still playing the way he is.

But until that time no one has the right to question whether he should be in the team or played at CHB until he is given time to get his confidence back and games under his belt.

ROFL that sounds exactly like someone who used to post quite regularly here on RWO. And she's still about but seems a bit wiser

Myself have not made reference to his last 5 years.

In regards to your comment he missed 10 out of 13 games last year - that was last year - everyone has come into this season "out of form" yet have managed to start pretty well - the senior players apart from Saddington

He had a full pre season and was "flying" apparently as we have seen in articles pre season

I dont want him axed never said that - just basically in my eyes is a concern atm - but if doesnt turn it around in first 6-8 weeks footy season will be major problem / liability - "IF"

I was using the tone of your post to point out to others what I was trying to say. Sorry for the confusion I know you had not made referrence to Saddington and his last 5 years or wanted him axed.

I was merely trying to point out that Charlie was correct in saying it is only the Wizzer Cup and that Saddo should be given time to find his feet again after injury.

What perplexes me is that Saddington has done nothing different in the practice games so far than say Schauble, who looked short of practice and form against Fevola and Carlton last week.

Why is he not singled out on that performance?

And there in lies the double standards Schuable is allowed to be rusty, blowing out the cobwebs etc while Saddo is subjected to can't play, lazy, no heart based on two practice games.

And before people reply with look at his efforts at the end of last year, remember to compare like with like. Schuable was well and truely out of form at the start of last year (co incidently after injuries the year before) and took consecutive games and the later part of the year to work his way back into form.

To my defense - I did not see the game at all last week

And if I thought Schuable looked rusty liked Saddo I would have shared my thoughts about it no doubt about it.

So no double standards from my side mate.

I really hope they turn it around cause i'm a fan of both players.

The difference being that Schaubes is not a heralded "Superstar down back for the Swans", Saddo allegedly is!

So you're condemning Saddo on 1 game this year?

Surely you can see that this is flippant.
