There will only be a few wins between 2nd and 10th IMO so 6-8 is about on the money.
Mike Sheahan predicts 6-8 finish

"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''. -

I agree with TheHood's comment - "I can't imagine Team Roos letting the Sydney Swans fall apart or go backwards"
Hopefully wheels don't fall off and Sheehan again gets to eat his words - he is up himself anyway and only taking care of his Victorian counterparts.Love those SwansComment

By normal expectations of player's careers Goodes, Bolton * 2, Kennelly, Schnieder, Davis, Fosdike, Saddington should all get better.
That said we have one of the poorer midfields in the comp, and that will tell. Some like Fosdike and Ablett have not been impressive so far in the pre-season but time will tell.

Mike Sheahan has always gone with the so called strength of the comp. I doubt he has ever picked the improver of the season, and there is one of those every year.
He is a conservative punter who is involved in a media pecking order and when you analyse last years predictions you could throw a blanket over the lot of their predictions, as they were so narrow in their prognostications.
They have set ideas about clubs and players and rarely go outside those perameters.
By the way, there is nothing wrong with our midfield. Their centre clearances improved dramatically last year which had a lot to do with our improvement.
Also Cressa was certainly not our best at this, so we won't lose much in the dept by his departing.Comment

A team like Brisbane is 4th best for centre clearances (ave 14). As an guide, their top 4 CB clearers are Black (49), Voss (40), Power (38), Lappin (36) and Charman (22).
Our top 5 are J Bolton (42), Kirk (32), Maxfield (23), Goodes (21) and Williams (21).
Our overall clearances are about 35, which is just above the leage average of 34, so we'd be in the top half there.

Our centre bounce clearances would be in the bottom few. We average about 11, against a league average of 13. That places about 14-16 I think.

Even last weekend this was obvious - although that time C/wood had a lot of big fat bodies that could block the space around the ball but not use it well.
When Bolton and Williams were off in the 3rd qrtr C/wood kicked 3 quick goals.
Anyway it's a problem - probably excarebated by the fact that we have two defensive midfielders in Crouch and Kirk
He averaged 1 per game, which would actually place him 4th in our best CB clearers. You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment
