    Agree with the gist of what you're saying, but O'Farrell was reasonably highly rated at the time and the Hawks chased him hard - rumour was that they threw a lot of money at him to defect. The fact that he then collapsed in a heap of injuries and retired early slightly clouds the fact that he was rated then.

    And even putting aside the fact that the 1998 was not the strongest ever, the timing of the Mooney trade was brilliant, though he was a player I enjoyed watching the few times he was fit.

          The Swan's 1998 draft decision has been flogged to death on this board on more than one occasion; the last time it was bigger than Ben Hur.

            O'Farrell's knee was 'gone' when he went to Hawthorn. We could be arrested for passing damaged goods.
