    Injury update 9 March

    Injury List Update
    9:53:34 AM Tue 9 March, 2004
    sydneyswans.com.au

    PLAYER INJURY STATUS
    Stephen Doyle Knee 1 week
Ben Fixter Hamstring strain v Collingwood 3 weeks
    Ben Mathews Ankle 1 week
    Michael O'Loughlin Knee 1-week
    Andrew Schauble Hamstring Reassess
Adam Schneider Hamstring v Carlton 2 weeks
    Tim Schmidt Calf strain Test
    Rowan Warfe Hip Rehabilitating

Most players are reasonably close to playing apart from Warfe(y) who is rehabilitating . I am unsure what that word actually means in the context of recovery from a football injury .

Amazing, a week ago the list was as long as Mark Latham's backslappers list, yet today they are all on track for Round 1.

We are either going to be awesome or underdone, but that man got it right last year, and again he said Round 1 was the aim again. But methinks that he is a bit smarter this year with a season under his belt.

    Barry take note.

      LOL @ Nico.

Barry wont have a choice but to smile and see that this season may not be doom and gloom... yet! Leave that til after a couple of rounds when we will know how far our team has progressed.

Looking at the draw, it might take a bit longer than that.

We'll possibly be 0-2 after two rounds, but could conceivably be 9-2 by half way.

I read in the paper up here that Roos had said that Bolton and Rogers were in the mix for Schaubles position in Round 1.

Does this mean that Rogers will be getting a promotion off the rookie list at the expense (I'm guessing) of Warfe?

Building up our depth would be a great outcome for the first half dozen games. If we can find a replacement for Schuable from Bolton, James, Saddington, Rogers, LRT, then thats a huge bonus for the rest of the year and beyond.

If Rogers goes well this week, he'd have to be promoted over Warfe. Would that be the quickest Rookie promotion in history ?

My big hopes are for Doyle and James to show the goodes early on. If those two step up to be key players then its as good as two boom recruits for nothing. James has got to be CHB/FB material.

Looks like Rogers will be moved up but how and who is on long term injury is still a mystery but certainly looks like Wharfe or possible Schauble, as they are now saying six weeks for Andrew.
              Love those Swans

by "couple", i didnt literally mean 2 rounds. 9 - 2 at the halfway mark would be a dream come true. That split round game vs collingwood would be absolutely packed!

Shouldn't that be as big as his man-boobs?

Teams with two veterans have 40 players to choose from, hence there is a little known rule which allows elevation of rookies by teams with 1 or 0 veterans. These players are called nominated rookies.
