    In Todays Tele....

It said that there may be the surprise inclusion of Paul Bevan and Aaron Rogers to play the Lions..... as well as Mcveigh and Powells names being tossed around!!
    - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

IMO Mcviegh is way ahead of Bevan to get a guersney first up - Rogers and Powell - a bit harder to split - but I would think Powell would be the clear cut winner in the end.

I'm not sure that it will be a competition between Powell and Rogers.

Just trying to read between the lines, I remember two or three weeks ago that Roos identified Powell as having a good chance of playing in round 1, but in the forward line. If Schneider doesn't come up from his hamstring injury, then Powell would be almost a monty to get a guernsey. Even if Schneider does play, Powell must still be a chance, because Roos has several times said that he would like another tall forward in the squad.

Rogers has really only been mentioned as a prospect for round 1 since Schauble got injured, and then only as an either/or with Heath James. Unfortunately, I haven't seen enough of their form yet to guess who is most likely to get the nod for the Gabba.

McVeigh and Bevan are a bit different, I think. Bevan must be a good chance to get promoted, simply because his determination and work ethic has so impressed the club . . . . sort of like Paul Kelly when he was a novice. But I've read nothing that seriously suggests that he will get a game in round 1.

McVeigh on the other hand has been talked about in almost reverent terms ever since he was drafted, and my impression has always been that the club intends to play him from round 1 as long as he's fit.

Have I missed something here? Isn't Rogers still a rookie so is ineligible for Round 1.

Apparently 2 rookies can be promoted during the season, making the list 40.

I really don't know much about it.
No-one did, until someone looked it up.

I never really saw the basic rule explained though....

Many players were mentioned last night as playing seniors - McVeigh, Rogers, Ablett, Buchanan, Bevan, Hunt - like it was encouragement from the various coaches.

Coaches - what happened to the other North Melb player who was coaching? His name escapes me - he was there last night - but not on stage as coach nor was he mentioned.

Thank you for helping me with a Brain Drain - yes it is Brett Allison - now what is happening with him. He didn't have Swans uniform on - i.e. Suit and tie like the rest of them.

Is Brett still helping out at the club?

It may be that they knew about Malceski's knee and can put him on the long term injury list now so they can promote a rookie.
