Congratualtions to both - well deserved basd on pre-season efforts.
But could this lead to the rise of The United Front of Scott McGlone rising in the belief that he should have had the spot on the senior list?

You would think so, wouldn't you? Well done to Rodgers and Bevan. With the form they've shown, they deserve it.

McGlone would have been competing with Bevan, and Rogers with Hunt you would think. Missen identified Bevan as one of the most outstanding trainers at the club in his pre-season report so I guess this is just rewards for that.
The sad news about Malceski means that any of the others can also be promoted if they show they are worthy over the next month or so.
I posted this in another thread but seeings these boys have their own thread now I'll do it again
Great news from both Bevan and Rogers, both from Sydney City and Southern leagues and areas respectively. Great to see real Sydney lads in the Swans, and in particular from the unfashionable non-Northern footy areas.
I think both Jixygirl and Lizz hit it on the head. McGlone would have been competing against these two and IMO Rogers and Beavn deserved to be picked first given their recent form.
I'm a big wrap for McGlone and believe he'll get his turn. The door's open a crack, due to Malceski's injury. He just needs to stick his foot in and keep it open.
Hey Reggi, maybe I can lead this front as my last cause is now a non issue.

Actually I reckon that Warfe is not really as injured as they say, that is to say he has been asked not to train so that a rookie can be promoted if he (the rookie) is looking more likely to get a game than Warfie.
Who reckons I'm being outrageously conspiritorial?
I mean has anyone even seen Rowan at training or around the club? And since when is "rehabilitating" an injury status? I ask you, honestly!

The Sydney Swans are pleased to announce that, following solid form in the Wizard Cup Regional Series, rookies Aaron Rogers and Paul Bevan have now been elevated to 'Nominated Rookie' status, which makes them eligible for selection in the senior team during the 2004 season.
Aaron Rogers joined the Swans this season after two years on the Melbourne list, playing two pre-season cup games. He was drafted as Melbourne's second round selection (no.25 overall) in the 2001 National Draft. Prior to being drafted Aaron played his junior football for St George in Sydney and also for the NSW/ACT Rams.
Paul Bevan is in his second season as a Swans rookie and, like Aaron Rogers is a local youngster having played for the Western Suburbs and NSW/ACT Rams prior to joining the Swans.
